PRESS RELEASE Photo exhibition: Kai Schäfer – “Worldrecords” in the Hamm Auditorium

Hamm 09/13/2022 // The greatest albums in music history, played on legendary turntables - and all of this photographed in large format. From September 30th you can admire selected pictures by Kai Schäfer. The exhibition will be opened with an evening event at which Kai Schäfer will talk about his works in person. The Schäfer works will be hanging in the Hamm auditorium until the end of December 2022.

The approach to art, precise down to the last detail, finds its ideal expression in the large-format photographs. Every roll, every label, every tonearm part is oversized and becomes almost tangible for the viewer. Kai Schäfer developed a special light for his photos. This goes a long way in making these effects real.

On September 30, Kai Schäfer will come personally to the auditorium in Hamm to tell all sorts of interesting things about his works and his approach to photographic art. The evening lecture starts at 5 p.m.

The owner of the photographs is the Limelight Gallery, a subsidiary of the company Lightpower, whose "Lightpower Collection" is one of the largest collections of Rock'n'Roll photographs in the world. The Limelight Gallery works closely with some of the greatest photographers in this genre.

From September 30th to December 30th you have the opportunity to see selected photographs free of charge. The large-format images allow an incredibly detailed view of the cover and turntable. Nothing stays hidden.

If you would like to take part in this unique musical journey through time and look at fantastic photographs, you are welcome to drop by the Hamm Auditorium during our opening hours (10:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.) from September 30th. A visit to the exhibition is free.
