SL-1200GR2 & SL-1210GR2
Discover the further development of the very popular GR models from Technics. SL-1200GR2 and SL-1210GR2 have undergone several improvements that take direct drive turntables to a new level.
The differences between
GR and GR2
- The headshell on both models has the Technics logo, which gives an elegant and striking touch.
- All components of the SL-1210GR2 are in elegant black, which offers a modern and stylish look. In contrast, some black resin parts have been replaced with metal-coated parts. This gives the SL-1210GR2 a much more valuable look and underlines the premium quality of the turntable.
- A significant upgrade can be found in the engine drive system. The new Delta Sigma (ΔΣ) drive system was integrated into the SL-1210GR2. This key technology includes high-precision 1-bit D/A conversion and a highly accurate PWM pulse generation method. The result is an extremely clean drive sine wave that results in extremely low rotational vibrations. This significantly optimizes the scanning process and ensures an impressive sound experience with the direct drive.
- Additionally, the SL-1210GR2 offers expanded pickup compatibility. The delivery includes 3mm thick shims made of injection-molded aluminum, which enable the user to select a wider range of pickups and to optimally match them to the turntable. Compared to the SL-1210GR, this opens up additional possibilities for fine-tuning the sound character.
Overall, the Technics SL-1200 GR and 1210GR2 are impressive further developments of their predecessors. Not only do they offer improved aesthetics, but also increased flexibility in cartridge selection, making them excellent options for entry-level audiophiles and DJ enthusiasts.
Pickup combinations
Instead of simply recommending a few pickups for the GR2, we have decided to offer you matching bundles with pickups. This means you can be sure that there is compatibility between the record player and cartridge and that you can play your records “out of the box”.
By the way: Don't be put off by complicated adjustment templates and weight settings - with Technics turntables, assembly and adjustment of the tonearm and cartridge are very easy.
