Hamm, 08.04.2024 // Auditorium has been living a passion for sound and vision for over 40 years. With its local musical commitment, the provider of high-quality hi-fi and home cinema goes far beyond its own screening rooms, as shown by its sponsorship of the International Jazz Festival in Hamm, which takes place from 12-14, April 2024.

The boundless passion for music is particularly evident at the International Jazz Festival, which takes place every two years and celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2024: over three days, the cultural office of the city of Hamm offers a wide-ranging, exciting programme mix of the finest blues and jazz in the Kurhaus.

As part of the festival sponsorship, the Auditorium is also supporting the Kurhaus with a top-class high-end sound system that will make the heart of any music fan beat faster, proving that listening to music is not just listening to music: Festival visitors can listen to selected jazz gems and pieces by the festival acts, chat and enjoy a drink during the interval in the Kurhaus' Mirror Hall.

Exciting mix of blues & jazz

Friday evening is all about the blues: the Leif de Leeuw Band, which has already established itself at the top of the Dutch blues scene and knows how to captivate audiences with its impressive, emotionally charged guitar playing, will kick things off, followed by the excellent Swiss guitarist, singer and songwriter Philipp Fankhauser, who has known since the age of eleven that he wanted to be a blues musician.

Saturday features Annika Nilles, Tokunbo and Ida Nielsen, an extraordinary mixture of song poetry paired with fragile guitar sounds, rousing drum cascades and hard-hitting slap-bass funk, concentrated female power.

On Sunday, local heroes [NOSUBSTITUTION] will perform their danceable mix of jazz, funk, Latin, pop and R&B, proving once again that Hamm has a lively blues and jazz scene. To round things off on Sunday, Götz Alsmann, entertainer and king of the German jazz beat, will do the honours and present the many facets of love with his usual charm in the preview of his new programme.

Setting a supra-regional highlight

"We are delighted to be supporting the city of Hamm musically together with other sponsors and thus setting a cultural highlight beyond the region," says Sebastian Schwarte, Managing Director of the Auditorium. The Auditorium has been sponsoring the jazz festival since 2005, making it one of the first sponsors.
