NRG 1 TWO-POLE POWER CABLE No matter how perfect the power source is, distortion is added in every power cord, especially stranded cords. Even the most sophisticated filters and power supplies cannot prevent this cable-induced distortion. SOLID LONG CRYSTALLINE COPPER (LGC) CONDUCTORS Solid conductors prevent distortion caused by mutual interference between the strands. The solid long-crystalline copper (LGC) in the Evergreen enables a more balanced, clearer sound than cables with the usual oxygen-free, highly conductive copper (OFHC - Oxygen-Free-High-Conductivity). OFHC is a general metal industry specification that considers 'losses' without considering any distortion. LGC has fewer oxides in the conductive material, fewer impurities, fewer grain boundaries, and offers significantly better performance. STAR-QUAD GEOMETRY The relationship between the individual conductors defines the basic electrical properties of a cable (capacitance and inductance). Even if these variables are kept in a meaningful balance, the ratio of the conductors to one another can vary in such a way that the sound is greatly influenced. The Star-Quad structure of the NRG-1 enables significantly better dynamics and information clarity than when the same ladder is guided in parallel. COLD WELDING SYSTEM This new connector design enables a perfectly heat-free connection between cable and connector. The connection between the connector and the conductors is made using AQ's cold welding system. This creates a high quality connection that fully maintains the structural integrity of the ladder. The cold welding system consists of a combination of high pressure at the contact point and the use of copper or silver impregnated paste. |
