FINAL has been developing and manufacturing high-end products since 1974. The late Kanemori Takai founded the company in Japan, and its first product was a pick-up. The product delivered an exceptionally clear sound and was held in the highest esteem by the hi-fi industry. The company continued to follow this path, developing distinctive pieces ranging from amplifiers, speakers and cartridges to headphones.

Since 2009, the FINAL headphones have been an integral part of the list of the most sought-after headphones in the world. Product development takes place in the company's own factory, because FINAL is convinced that the realisation of previously unthinkable ideas requires an environment in which not only the feedback from the design development and production departments flows together, but which also functions as a complete production facility with all the necessary instruments for the test phase. This is where driver systems are successfully developed and FINAL earphones and headphones are manufactured in high-end quality.
