In 1945, Dr. Fritz Sennheiser founded the "Laboratorium Wennebostel", or "Laboratory W" for short, in Wennebostel, which initially produced tube voltmeters. After the company was renamed "Sennheiser electronic" in 1957, the brand was further strengthened. Previously, Sennheiser had mainly been a supplier to large electronics companies, but now the company's own products were more prominent.
The company's product range includes microphones, headsets, systems and components. However, a particular focus is on headphone technology, which is being perfected at Sennheiser. Sennheiser headphones such as the Sennheiser HD 800 have become a reference. Its successor, the Sennheiser HD 800 S , was launched in 2015. In 2016 the Sennheiser HE1 headphones were released - the most expensive headphones in the world.
