MASSIVE 100% PERFECT SURFACE SILVER LADDER (PSS)
If the Perfect Surface technology is applied to extremely pure silver, the result is unprecedented clarity and dynamism. Solid conductors prevent interaction between the individual strands - a major cause of cable distortion. Extremely high-purity Perfect Surface silver minimizes the distortions caused by the grain boundaries existing in every metal conductor, thus almost completely eliminating roughness in the sound and greatly improving the clarity compared to OFHC, OCC, 8N and other copper.
MASSIVE, HIGH DENSITY POLYETHYLENE INSULATION
Any massive material adjacent to a conductor becomes part of an incomplete electrical network. Wire insulation and circuit board material absorb energy (losses). Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. The massive, high-density polyethylene insulation ensures the critical geometry of the signal pairs and minimizes the phase distortions otherwise caused by the insulation.
DIELECTRIC BIAS SYSTEM (DBS, US Pat #s 7,126,055 & 7,872,195 B1)
Any insulation will slow down the signal on the conductor inside. If there is no voltage across the isolation, it will slow down individual parts of the signal to varying degrees - a major problem with very time-critical broadband audio. AudioQuest DBS creates a strong, stable electrostatic field that saturates and polarizes (organizes) the molecules of the insulation. This reduces both the energy stored in the insulation and the various non-linear time delays to a minimum. The sound is created against a surprisingly black background with an unexpected richness of detail and expanded dynamics. The DBS batteries last for several years. A button with an LED display enables the occasional test of the battery charge level.
CARBON-BASED 3-LAYER NOISE-DISSIPATION SYSTEM (NDS)
Achieving 100 percent shielding is easy. The AQ noise dissipation system is required to prevent 'captured' HF interference from influencing the device's ground reference. Metal and carbon-containing plastics prevent most of the RF interference from reaching the device's ground plane.

DIRECTIONALITY
All audio cables are directional. Each batch of metal conductors for each AudioQuest audio cable is sampled to determine the correct direction of travel. The plugs are clearly and unambiguously marked with corresponding arrows to ensure the outstanding sound quality. For best results, use the cables with the arrows pointing in the direction the music is flowing. For example from the NAS to the router, from the router to the network player.
