SOLID 100% PERFECT SURFACE SILVER CONDUCTORS (PSS)
When Perfect Surface Technology is applied to extremely pure silver, the result is unprecedented clarity and dynamism. Solid conductors prevent interaction between individual strands - a major cause of cable distortion. Extremely high purity Perfect Surface Silver minimizes the distortion caused by the grain boundaries existing in each metal conductor, almost completely eliminating harshness in sound and greatly improving clarity compared to OFHC, OCC, 8N and other coppers.
SOLID, HIGH DENSITY POLYETHYLENE INSULATION
Any solid material adjacent to a conductor becomes part of an incomplete electrical network. Wire insulation and circuit board material absorb energy (losses). Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. The solid, high-density polyethylene insulation ensures the critical geometry of the signal pairs and minimizes the phase distortions otherwise caused by the insulation.
DIELECTRIC BIAS SYSTEM (DBS, US Pat #s 7,126,055 & 7,872,195 B1)
Any insulation slows down the signal on the conductor inside. When there is no voltage across the isolation, it slows individual parts of the signal to varying degrees - a big problem in very time-sensitive wideband audio. AudioQuest DBS creates a strong, stable electrostatic field that saturates and polarizes (organizes) the molecules of the insulation. This reduces both the energy stored in the insulation and the various non-linear time delays to a minimum. The sound is created against a surprisingly black background with unexpected richness of detail and expanded dynamics. The DBS batteries last for several years. A button with LED display allows occasional testing of the battery charge level.
CARBON-BASED 3-LAYER NOISE-DISSIPATION SYSTEM (NDS)
Achieving 100 percent shielding is easy. To prevent 'trapped' RF interference from affecting the device's ground reference, the AQ noise dissipation system is required. Metal and carbon-containing plastics prevent most RF interference from reaching the device's ground plane.

DIRECTIONALITY
All audio cables are directional. Each batch of metal conductors for each AudioQuest audio cable is test-heard to determine the correct running direction.
