Bixby Creek Bridge spans a stream and an impressive but difficult canyon. It underlines and contrasts the majestic beauty of California's spectacular coastline north of Big Sur, 190 kilometers south of San Francisco. As an integral part of this landscape, the bridge appears in numerous television programs and movies and can be found on posters around the world.

MASSIVE PERFECT SURFACE COPPER + LADDER (PSC +)

PSC + copper has a surprisingly smooth and clean surface. The company's proprietary metalworking technology protects the surface of the wire at every step of the drawing and manufacturing process. When high purity, low oxygen copper is kept as soft, pure and smooth as possible, it turns into a wonderfully low distortion PSC + conductor. PSC + is made using the same exceptional technology as ultra-pure copper. The resulting sound quality is even more focused and unobtrusive. AudioQuest has pioneered the use of high quality metals for more than 30 years; but even we were surprised at the huge leap in performance made possible with Perfect Surface technology. With its performance, PSC + surpasses all previously available copper metals at every price level. All of the leaders in Big Sur are massive. The mutual electrical and magnetic influence of the strands in conventional cable structures is the greatest source of interference and often causes an 'impure', 'rough' sound. Solid conductors are the basic foundation for the pure sound of the Big Sur.

INSULATION IN POLYETHYLENE FOAM

Any massive material adjacent to a conductor becomes part of an incomplete electrical network. Wire insulation and circuit board material absorb energy (losses). Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. In the Big Sur, air-filled polyethylene foam insulation is used for both conductors because air absorbs almost no energy and polyethylene is low-loss and has a benign distortion profile. Thanks to the air in the polyethylene foam, it causes significantly fewer blurring effects than other materials.

METAL LAYER NOISE DISSIPATION SYSTEM (NDS)

Achieving 100 percent shielding is easy. The AudioQuest Noise Dissipation System is required to prevent 'captured' RF interference from affecting the device's ground reference. It prevents most of the RF interference from reaching the device's ground plane.

DOUBLE-BALANCED ASYMMETRICAL GEOMETRY

Specially developed for single-ended applications, Double-Balanced Asymmetrical Geometry offers less impedance on the ground for a fuller, more dynamic sound result. While many single-ended cables use a single path for both ground and shielding, double-balanced designs separate the two for a cleaner, quieter performance.

COLD WELDED GOLD PLATED PURE 'PURPLE-COPPER' RCA CONNECTORS

This connector structure allows the connection without solder - because this is a common source of interference. Because the end sleeves are stamped rather than machined, the metal can be selected for low distortion rather than machinability. Purple-Copper offers a purer, clearer sound than the nickel-plated or OFHC metals often found in competitive plugs
