AudioQuest is proud to announce that the analog cables in the 'Rivers' series have been completely redesigned and expanded. The Red River is the affordable entry into the line; the venerable Diamondback and King Cobra have been replaced by two new cost-effective models, the Mackenzie and a third river, the Yukon.
The Audioquest Mackenzie and the Yukon use Perfect-Surface-Copper + (PSC +), Audioquest's best conductor material. In addition, the Mackenzie has a polyethylene insulation with nitrogen inclusions, which minimizes distortions even better. While the Noise Dissipation System (NDS) based on metal layers is used in the Red River, Mackenzie and Yukon use the higher-quality three-layer noise dissipation system based on carbon. Red River, Mackenzie and Yukon are also equipped with the latest developments in AudioQuest connector design. The connectors on all three cables have been developed from scratch. In addition, the Mackenzie and Yukon plugs are made of pure purple copper. The Mackenzie and Yukon use hanging silver - a process in which the copper plugs are dipped ('hung') into a vessel of high-purity silver to create a very thick drop silver plating.
