Purple Flare Analog Interconnect Cable
The construction of the Leif series completely dispenses with filling elements, which are only intended to increase the diameter and thus the perceived value of a cable. Such useless inlays may make a cable look more impressive, but cause electrical and mechanical interactions that rob the signal of its 'liveliness' and energy.
This is why Nordost takes the principle of 'less is more' to heart when designing audio cables and relies on superior materials and construction principles. Six oxygen-free, silver-plated solid core copper conductors with a cross-section of 0.4 mm2 are used in each Purple Flare Interconnect, each one encased in a precisely extruded FEP layer with low capacitance. These conductors are wound into a precisely wound and mechanically stable arrangement that ensures the same spacing between the conductors and a uniformly twisted shape. This strand is then surrounded by a fine protective braid and an FEP sheath.
The principle of maximum effectiveness and precision continues with this construction until the selection of the most suitable connectors: The cables of the Leif series are assembled by hand in the USA with particularly light Neutrik RCA connectors or symmetrical XLR connectors. Only silver solder is used in order to meet the requirements of the RoHS directive and to ensure the quality and durability of every connection.
The result is an audio cable that comes as close as possible to the hi-fi ideal: absolute signal integrity, nothing is added to the music and nothing is obscured. Once you hear this, the piece of music and your demands on playback will never be the same.
