WireWorld Micro Silver Eclipse 10 – reliable connection for analog signals
A well-tuned phono cable can make all the difference in the analog signal path – not through gimmicks, but through precise and interference-free signal transmission. The WireWorld Micro Silver Eclipse 10 phono cable is designed precisely in this direction. It complements high-quality record players with a reliable and technically sophisticated connection between the cartridge and the phono stage.
The initial idea is simple: A signal generated mechanically requires a sensitive yet robust cable. Interference and loss should be minimized as much as possible without altering the fundamental signature of the musical material. This is achieved here with a consistently practical concept.
Technical concept with a focus on continuity
The cable is based on the well-known Tri DNA Helix design, which WireWorld uses in several product series. This structure ensures consistent signal transmission along the entire length of the cable. Importantly, it consists of three symmetrically constructed conductor groups, each with 13 individual wires, which contributes to stable and consistent performance.
WireWorld uses OCC-7N silver-coated copper as the conductor material. This combination of ultra-pure copper with a fine silver coating represents a technical compromise that combines high conductivity with a touch of added clarity—but without being too overpowering.
Variable connection options for different setups
In practice, not only the cable material but also the connection configuration determines a cable's usability. The Micro Silver Eclipse 10 is available in three different versions:
DIN to 2x RCA
DIN to 2x XLR
2x RCA + Ground
This allows for both traditional and balanced connections. Even older or specialized turntables with DIN outputs can be seamlessly integrated. The ground cable is included if needed, ensuring reliable grounding if the device requires it.
Choice of materials without exaggerated staging
The cable is insulated with Composilex 5 – a special material from WireWorld designed to minimize electromagnetic interference. The cable remains pleasantly flexible and can be easily installed, even in tight rack spaces or with awkwardly placed rear jacks.
The plugs are made of silver-plated, oxygen-free copper (OFC). They are solidly constructed and ensure permanently stable connections. Unnecessarily opulent housings or oversized covers have been avoided, which benefits everyday handling.
For users who know what they need
The WireWorld Micro Silver Eclipse 10 isn't aimed at those constantly seeking dramatic changes in their sound. Rather, it's designed for those who already have a well-tuned setup and want to complement it with a neutral, high-quality cable. The cable doesn't draw attention to itself, but remains unobtrusive in the best sense of the word – technically reliable, durable, and without stylistic extremes.
The capacitance values are clearly communicated: 100pF/m for XLR, 200pF/m for RCA, and a standard version with 100pF/m. A low-capacitance version is also available as an option. This allows the cable to be adjusted to different input impedances—a plus point for those who pay particular attention to technical details.
