Audioquest Rocket 44

The conductor mix of the Rocket 44 includes Perfect-Surface-Copper +. PSC + has fewer grain boundaries, which reduces roughness in the sound. This carefully coordinated combination of LGC, PSC and PSC + enables the Rocket 44 to reproduce clearly and faithfully.

MASSIVE LONG GRAIN COPPER / PERFECT-SURFACE-COPPER / PERFECT-SURFACE-COPPER + LADDER (LGC / PSC / PSC +)

A carefully coordinated combination of long-crystalline copper, perfect surface copper and extremely high-purity Perfect-Surface-Copper + is used in the Rocket 44. LGC has fewer oxides in the conductive material, fewer impurities, fewer grain boundaries and therefore offers significantly better reproduction. The amazingly smooth and pure PSC also eliminates roughness and significantly increases clarity. The PSC + has the largest share in the ladder mix of the Rocket 44.

CARBON-BASED NOISE-DISSIPATION (INSULATION)

The four negative conductors in Rocket 44 are insulated with partially conductive carbon-containing polyethylene. This remarkable material attenuates high frequency interference so that it is not fed back into the amplifier. The tonal advantage of this is the same reduction in fluctuations and better spatiality as the reduction in HF waste in an audio circuit. In the Rocket 44, polyethylene foam insulation is used on the positive conductors because air absorbs almost no energy and polyethylene is low-loss and has a benign distortion profile. Thanks to the air in the PE foam, there are far fewer blurring effects than with other materials.

DOUBLE STAR QUAD GEOMETRY

The relationship between the individual conductors defines the basic electrical properties of a cable (capacitance and inductance). Even if these variables are kept in a meaningful balance, the relationship between the conductors can vary in such a way that the sound is greatly influenced. The Double-Star-Quad construction of the Rocket 44 enables significantly better dynamics and information clarity than when the same ladder is guided in parallel.

SPREAD SPECTRUM TECHNOLOGY (SST)

Every single conductor and every conductor bundle has its own specific distortion profile. Even if radially symmetrical conductors (solid or tubular) have the fewest irregularities, each conductor of a certain size leaves a sonic footprint. SST is a method to significantly reduce these characteristic weaknesses by using a precisely determined combination of conductors of different sizes. The different conductor sizes used in the Rocket 44 and determined with the help of the SST enable the exceptionally clear, pure and dynamic sound.

BI-WIRING

The Rocket 44 is an exceptional single bi-wiring cable. If the halves are separated at the speaker end, the double-star quad geometry transforms the Rocket 44 into a real double bi-wiring set thanks to the magnetic independence of the individual quad-conductor areas. A single Star Quad leader group would be a little lightweight in its performance, considered on its own, as it is very upper-voice heavy. The other Star Quad Leader group is bass heavy; their sound is stronger and less focused on ultimate resolution. Both together result in the optimal full-range structure. If the cable ends are used separately, the Rocket 44 becomes a double bi-wiring cable with maximum performance thanks to the double-star quad structure.

PACKING

AudioQuest offers a wide range of high-quality plugs with which the Rocket 44 can be connected to any type of hi-fi equipment. In terms of quality, the focus is more on the low-distortion sound than on eye candy. The gold and silver of these AQ plugs look 'boring' matt because the metals are applied directly to the plug - there is no shiny-looking but rough-sounding nickel layer underneath. AQ-PK cable lugs are also relatively soft, because higher quality metals are soft, which is advantageous for the quality of the connection. For devices that require banana or BFA plugs, the AQ-PK-BFA / banana plugs offer a previously unknown high-quality reproduction compared to conventional brass versions.

USE

The PVC 'pants' on the ends of the Rocket 44 are labeled 'Speaker End' or 'Amp End' (amplifier side). Please use the cables in the appropriate direction.
