For nearly a century, Nordost has been setting the standard for hi-fi audio with its excellent audio cables. Launched in 2008, Odin cables embody the idol after which they were named. Odin is the Supreme Reference Range from Nordost and was designed for perfect sound reproduction. Nordost was able to record this success with the most innovative technology of its time. However, over the past six years, Nordost has made great strides in cable technology and manufacturing processes, bringing the Nordost standard to new heights. Today, after years of extensive research and development, great ingenuity, and the widespread application of our own proprietary knowledge, Northeast can confidently claim that Odin 2 is the pinnacle of cable design. By unleashing every facet of a live performance - the delicate nuances, the booming outbursts, the immediate reaction of a staccato, and even the precision in space and time between the notes themselves - Odin 2 cables are unmatched. Such a performance has to be heard to be believed. Odin 2 not only sets the standard, it blows away all previous standards.
The Odin Supreme Reference speaker cable consists of 24 20AWG conductors made of 99.99999% oxygen-free copper (OFC) with an 85 micrometer thick silver layer on the surface, embedded in a flat cable structure.
Each conductor is individually provided with a 'Dual Mono-Filament' made of Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene (FEP) with an extruded FEP sheath. Carefully selected conductors with a high degree of concentricity and the precision in the manufacturing process result in outstanding sound quality. The cable is constructed in 4 groups of 6 conductors each and is therefore also ideally suited for bi-wiring and bi-amping. The Odin Supreme Reference speaker cable is terminated with Nordost's rhodium-plated beryllium copper Z-plugs. These connectors enable the best possible connection and impedance matching between the cable and the connected component. Odin is also available with special triple rhodium-plated Furutech fork shoes.
