Dali Opticon 6MK2 Tobacco Oak Single piece

This speaker is a one-of-a-kind piece. It can be used, for example, as a center speaker behind a screen or as a standalone unit in a sound system. This B-stock item is in good condition.

The DALI OPTICON MK2 series comprises six models. Within the DALI passive loudspeaker product family, it represents a milestone in both playback quality and technical ambition: This is unmistakably a high-end hi-fi product. The OPTICON MK2 features the renowned DALI hybrid tweeter, die-cast aluminum drivers, SMC pole pieces, and cabinets manufactured entirely in-house.

Each model in the OPTICON MK2 series features DALI's proprietary SMC2 woofers. These drivers are paired with either a DALI soft dome tweeter or the hybrid fabric/ribbon tweeter for which DALI has become so well known. The OPTICON MK2 models are available in three new finishes: Satin White, Satin Black, and Tobacco Oak.

The speaker covers are black for the two darker cabinet options and light gray for the white cabinet option – naturally in upholstery quality.

Opticon 6 MK2

The slim OPTICON 6 MK2 floorstanding speaker is the first model in the OPTICON MK2 series to feature the renowned DALI hybrid tweeter, which combines a soft dome tweeter with a ribbon tweeter. The hybrid tweeter reproduces high frequencies with significantly greater detail.

It has been further improved for the OPTICON MK2: The 29 mm diameter dome, adopted from the CALLISTO series, is integrated into a redesigned cast aluminum front panel along with the 17 × 45 mm ribbon element. The bass and midrange frequencies of the OPTICON 6 MK2 are covered by two 6.5-inch wood fiber cones with SMC-based magnets.

The lower of these two drivers is slightly lowered in the midrange. Biwiring is optionally available for the OPTICON 6 MK2, allowing the woofer and high-frequency module to be connected independently. With the dual woofer module, the dual-flare bass reflex tube, and the increased internal volume of a floorstanding speaker, the OPTICON 6 MK2 delivers significantly more powerful bass than the OPTICON MK2 compact models.

This higher bass performance combines with brilliant clarity in the midrange and the typical sparkling highs of the DALI hybrid tweeter to create a convincing whole.

The OPTICON 6 MK2 comes with cast aluminum feet. They are complemented by either black chrome-plated floor spikes or (for installation on sensitive floors) vibration-reducing damping pads. Tools for installing the cast aluminum feet and spikes are included.
