The Grado Platinum3 and Sonata3 cartridges set new standards in sound reproduction by using Grado's advanced OTL (Optimized Transmission Line) cantilever technology. This technology reduces the moving mass by 10% compared to previous models in the Prestige series and enables outstanding sound fidelity. Crucially, the use of ultra-high purity, long crystal line oxygen-free copper (UHPLC) in the coils ensures excellent signal transmission.

While the Platinum3 model uses a specially developed elliptical diamond, the Sonata3 model uses a specially developed bare elliptical diamond.
