With Align it PRO you have access to a unique and effective workflow that makes aligning pickups incredibly fast and efficient. You can adjust Align it PRO to the exact length of your tonearm and fix it with the center of the tonearm bearing. On Pro-Ject tonearms, the mounting bar has two sides. A pointed end - ideal for any type of tonearm or bearing - and a second, flat end that fits exactly into the center screw of our higher quality Pro-Ject tonearms and their bearings (X1, X2, CC and CC Evo, ...).
With this approach, the exact distance for the overhang is set in no time, with unmatched accuracy to boot. You don't have to go back and forth between the inner and outer zero points to get 100% accurate overhang distance like other types of templates do! This is also the reason why only the inner zero point is printed on the Align it PRO.
Whether you're a beginner or a pro, the Align it PRO comes with detailed instructions and background information so you're well prepared to extract maximum sound from your records.
Baerwald geometry
The Align it PRO uses the Baerwald geometry. It is an excellent all-rounder, perfect for getting started with pickup adjustment. It offers an ideal balance of tracking the inner and outer grooves, while maintaining excellent linearity in the mid-range of the record. The music industry these days tends to use shorter lengths (20 minutes or less per side) and use 2 records - or 4 sides - per album. Baerwald is a perfect choice for this trend and works universally with many other styles as well.
Align it PRO is suitable for all Pro-Ject turntables and many turntables and tonearms from other manufacturers, depending on their distance between the pivot point and the spindle.
