TV screens are getting flatter and, unfortunately, so is the sound quality. So adding an external soundbar is a sensible solution to improve the sound of your TV. Finding a soundbar that offers both great sound and exceptional design isn't that easy, however.

The DALI KATCH ONE combines outstanding hi-fi sound quality with a fresh, cheeky look. With ten (!) integrated speaker drivers, the KATCH ONE sets a great deal of air in motion. An amplifier with a generous 4 x 50 watt output power generates the sound pressure required for an impressive TV or home cinema experience, even in larger living rooms.

design

The KATCH ONE's stringing was chosen for its very good acoustic properties, ensuring the sound slips through without losing energy and detail. In addition to its elegant appearance, the fabric also helps the KATCH ONE to easily blend into the decor of the room.

An important part of the visual design are the three installation options of the KATCH ONE:
- On the one hand, the soundbar can be elegantly hung on the wall using two leather straps. The connection cables are invisibly hidden behind the speaker.
- With the keyhole brackets embedded in the back, you can easily hang the KATCH ONE on the wall, even in tight spaces.
- The placement of the KATCH ONE on a shelf or on a sideboard is possible with the supplied real wood feet. These feet fit perfectly with the overall look of the KATCH ONE and decouple the soundbar from the supporting surface, minimizing unwanted vibration and giving the KATCH ONE a lighter, more floating look.

Housing

Both the cabinet and front baffle of the KATCH ONE are molded from a glass fiber reinforced ABS compound. This material offers the drivers the best working conditions with an optimized air flow, a wide stereo panorama and a sound image directed towards the listener. ABS forms the basis for an extremely rigid structure, where the movement of the drivers does not create unwanted resonances within the housing construction that could lead to audio signal distortion.

All inputs and outputs are located in a recess on the back of the housing. This way the plugs are not visible and there is easy access to the cables so that they can be routed out of the housing either up or down.

Both the fixed grille on the back of the KATCH ONE and the front wall have built-in airflow guides for optimal audio signal radiation. Since the woofers are mounted on both the front and rear of the KATCH ONE, controlling and optimizing airflow is very important. The rear woofers are designed to use the wall for even low frequency dispersion. Likewise, the front woofers in the baffle are surrounded by a sound guide so that the sound is radiated optimally.

connections

Five different audio inputs allow KATCH ONE to be connected to any audio source - including wireless streaming from your smartphone or tablet. Four alternatives are available just for the connection with your TV set. In addition, the KATCH ONE has automatic signal detection on all inputs and switches on automatically when you switch on your TV or audio source.

HDMI
The HDMI input (ARC) on the KATCH ONE is an audio-only input. The HDMI port supports using the TV remote control to adjust volume, mute, and power on/off.

2 OPTICAL DIGITAL INPUTS
The automatic switch-on function for the dedicated TV input is activated by the optical output of the TV. This ensures that the KATCH ONE is switched on and ready to use as soon as the TV is switched on. The second optical input is intended for connecting audio devices such as CD players and music streamers. This input enables automatic switching on and off based on the audio signal - which allows the automatic to work even if the audio device does not switch off the carrier signal in standby mode.

BLUETOOTH
The KATCH ONE supports Bluetooth AAC and aptX, enabling absolutely wireless music streaming from your mobile phone, tablet and other Bluetooth sources.

ANALOG INPUT
The stereo mini-jack input on KATCH ONE allows an analog connection to your TV, phone, tablet or PC.

SUBWOOFER OUTPUT
If a subwoofer is connected, all deep bass signals from the DSP are routed directly to the subwoofer output. This relieves the KATCH ONE of playing lower frequencies so that it can play even cleaner and louder.

USB SERVICE/POWER
The built-in USB port can power your tablet or Google Chromecast Audio (CCA), but does not allow music playback. Using a CCA allows the KATCH ONE to connect to your home network for access to numerous streaming services.

speaker chassis

The KATCH ONE features no fewer than 10 built-in speaker drivers, perfectly matched to the powerful 4 x 50W amplifier, ensuring powerful and balanced playback of both movie soundtracks and any type of music. Six chassis are controlled directly by the amplifier, four serve as an additional, passively excited membrane surface for a more dynamic and deeper bass reproduction.

TWEETER
The 21 mm, ultra-light dome tweeters are extremely compact, but their large membrane surface ensures that the drivers' transmission range extends well into the mid-range frequencies. Strong neodymium magnets ensure high resilience and good efficiency.

WOOFER
These specially developed chassis work with an inverted membrane and a special membrane suspension. As a result, the particularly flat woofers have a maximum excursion similar to that of a traditional woofer of the same size. In this way, the KATCH ONE offers a powerful low-frequency reproduction without the DSP having to boost the bass levels unnaturally.

The outward-turned cone consists of an aluminum cone with a soft fabric dust cap. The stiff aluminum cone allows the woofer to move as much air as possible, even in the mid-range, and the combination of aluminum and fabric ensures lower surface resonances and extremely detailed reproduction.

PASSIVE RADIATORS
The four large passive membranes are perfectly matched to the four active woofers and deliver a surprisingly powerful bass reproduction, especially when watching films. Their power is sufficient to convincingly sound even larger living rooms. A separate active subwoofer can also be connected for even more intense bass reproduction.
