The bi-wire output of the 6 DAC delivers a full 57 watts into 6 ohms. The power supply is a high-current design in which the digital control stages are completely separated from the sensitive audio signals with two transformers - an approach normally reserved for pre and power amplifiers. The 6 DAC has a powerful 24/192 DAC with optical and coaxial inputs and a driverless USB connection for plug-and-play connections to a PC or laptop. This integrated amplifier stands for a fascinating musical experience.
It is possible to upgrade the 6 DAC to the 82 DAC specification.
In the QXR version, in which a new ESS-based DAC was used, a new 'reclocking' process for all digital inputs was developed in addition to input resolutions up to 32bit / 768k. This reduces jitter and lowers the noise level significantly, and enables a much flatter filter slope than ever before. This process practically eliminates phase disturbances in the listening area (an approach that was previously only possible with noisy FPGA DAC solutions)
The improved headphone amplifier of the QXR version reduces the noise level and offers a significantly improved dynamic range. It is able to deliver 138 mW per channel at 16 ohms loads and can comfortably operate headphones with impedances of up to 64 ohms.
