TWO WAYS

The 700 series can also be compact: Bowers & Wilkins 705 S3 is genetically considered
actually the little sister of the floorstanding speaker 702 S3. As a compact two-way system, it works quickly and focuses on the combination of carbon dome tweeter and continuum cone woofer/midrange driver. The small mass that needs to be moved creates a natural, incorruptible sound that is difficult to beat in terms of speed.

The carbon dome tweeter of the 705 S3 is located in the well-known solid body tweeter-on-top housing, which can be found on the two top models of the 700 S3 series and which comes from the latest generation of the 800 Diamond series. The new, subtly curved baffle houses the Continuum Cone woofer/midrange driver in its own housing. An incomparable sound with more bass than you might expect.

THE NEW 700 S3 SERIES

Solid body tweeter

The 700 Series features the latest generation of solid body tweeters. Its new, longer design ensures even fewer reflections and an even more open treble. The carefully decoupled housing is milled from a solid aluminum block to avoid resonances even more effectively.

Carbon dome tweeter

The new carbon dome tweeter is specially developed for the 700 series. It offers a dramatic improvement over the aluminum double dome tweeter from the 700 S2. The carbon dome tweeter is even more precise in imaging the upper frequencies and provides a wealth of detail.

Midrange driver with Continuum™ membrane

For real technical development, you sometimes have to think outside the box. The transition from the famous B&W yellow aramid fiber midrange cones to the new Continuum cone technology resulted in a massive improvement in midrange performance. Now B&W engineers have turned to another crucial element of the speaker cone: the web spider. The new biomimetic suspension once again revolutionizes the performance of the midrange membrane. Unwanted air movements are effectively reduced. Thanks to its composite construction, the Continuum™ membrane avoids the typical partial vibrations of a conventional drive unit. The result is a transparent midrange that has to be heard to be believed.

Each three-way loudspeaker in the new 700 Series features a special midrange cone that features four key Bowers & Wilkins technologies: the Continuum™ cone, FST™ technology, biomimetic suspension and midrange decoupling, which provides the transition to the woofer improved.

Aerofoil™ basses

The Aerofoil™ profiles of the B&W basses were developed with the help of state-of-the-art computers. The variable thickness bass diaphragm provides high rigidity and strength where it is needed most. The result is deep and dynamic bass.

The housing

The new 700 series features a curved front baffle for the first time. The midrange and woofers are housed in individual housings. This significantly reduces the negative influence of the housing. The best proof of this is the successful 800 series from Bowers & Wilkins.

The surfaces

The 700 S3 are available in high-gloss black, matt white and brand new, with mocha wood grain.
