BluOS™ Streaming Amplifier HybridDigital™ Purifi Eigentakt™ Amplifier

In NAD's almost 50-year history, numerous innovative amplifier technologies have been developed, from the classic 3020 to the Class D flagship M2. The NAD M33 is the world's first high-end streaming integrated amplifier to use the innovative Purifi Eigentakt™ technology and was promptly awarded the EISA Award as the best "smart amplifier 2020/21".

Purifi, a Danish technology company, is committed to eliminating the last weaknesses in digital amplifier technology. The result of this work is the Purifi Eigentakt™ amplifier, which NAD is the first company to manufacture under license.

The Purifi Eigentakt™ technology is characterized by extremely low intermodulation distortion, a particularly low distortion factor of just 0.005% across the entire frequency response and minimal inherent noise. A central element of the development was the reduction of the hysteresis effects that lead to the loss of sound in conventional digital amplifiers. By modifying the output stage and using clever algorithms, Purifi was able to significantly reduce these effects. The Eigentakt™ power amplifiers are also insensitive to changing loudspeaker loads and offer clean and controlled bass reproduction thanks to the extremely low output impedance.

BluOS™ high-resolution music streaming

NAD relies on BluOS™ as the most advanced network streaming and multi-room system that can stream high-resolution audio data in multiple rooms. BluOS™ supports the new MQA compression standard and enables playback of studio master recordings in 24 bit/192 kHz format. More than 20 music services such as Tidal, Deezer, Qobuz, Amazon HD and Spotify can be used via BluOS™, as can locally stored music libraries. The M33 can also be integrated into many smart home systems via BluOS™.

The M33 can be operated via the TFT touch panel, the BluOS™ app for Android and iOS devices, Windows and Mac computers, the included remote control or via Siri voice control.

Dirac Live® room correction

Room acoustics have a significant impact on the playback quality of a hi-fi system. The NAD M33 therefore uses Dirac Live® room correction, which adjusts the audio system to the room acoustics and also analyses the impulse response of the audio signals. The measuring microphone supplied enables precise calibration, which leads to a more balanced, natural and spatial sound reproduction. Dirac Live offers five storable profiles to adapt the sound to different acoustic conditions. The two subwoofer outputs of the M33 are compatible with Dirac's unique "Bass Management".

MDC – future-proof modular structure

The M33 is already equipped with BluOS™, HDMI, Bluetooth® and Dirac Live® in the series version and can be expanded further via two slots for MDC modules. This enables the integration of future technologies and sound formats, such as the HDMI module MDC HDM-2.

Apple AirPlay 2

The M33 can be integrated into an Apple network via AirPlay 2 and can be used as a playback device for music streams from Mac, iPhone or iPad. Music tracks and radio stations can be started directly using Siri voice control.

Numerous connections and Bluetooth®

The M33 offers six digital and three analog inputs, including an MM/MC phono input. HDMI, USB and LAN ports are also available. The parallel speaker outputs can be used to connect two pairs of speakers or one pair conventionally or via bi-wiring. The subwoofer outputs are digitally configurable. Wireless streaming from a smartphone or tablet is possible via Apple Airplay 2 and the integrated Bluetooth® aptX™ HD module.

Phono and headphone connections

A high-quality phono preamplifier that can be switched between MM and MC systems ensures optimal sound quality. The discrete headphone amplifier can also drive planar magnetic and high-impedance studio headphones, while wireless headphones can be controlled via the Bluetooth® aptX™ HD module.

Extensive smart home integration

The M33 is fully integrated into numerous smart home systems and can be controlled via BluOS™ apps for iOS and Android and desktop controls for Windows and MacOS. The integration enables seamless control along with lighting, shading, HVAC and security systems.

High-quality aluminum housing

The housing of the M33 is made entirely of aluminum, which offers both elegant design and high stability. Torsion-resistant panels with magnetic iso-point feet form an optimal basis for the complex internal structure. The M33 represents a modern version of the traditional stereo amplifier with future-oriented functions and high power reserves.
