McIntosh D1100 AC

Digital Prepress Reference

The D1100 AC is a reference digital preamplifier and digital-to-analog converter (DAC) in one. The 8-channel, 32-bit DAC is used equally for the left and right channels in quad-balanced mode. It is the most advanced DAC ever used by McIntosh and delivers an unprecedented level of performance, reproducing any digital music with exceptional accuracy and authenticity.

The D1100 AC is an extremely flexible preamplifier, featuring a full set of nine digital inputs to cover every conceivable digital music source. These include three optical, three coaxial, one USB, one AES/EBU, and the proprietary McIntosh MCT input. Three sets of balanced and unbalanced analog outputs connect the D 1100 AC to the appropriate power amplifier section.

In addition to the above-mentioned feature set, the D 1100 AC features a 32-bit/384 kHz DSD digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and can decode and play DSD64, DSD128, and DSD256, as well as DXD 352.8 kHz and 384 kHz, via USB. All other inputs support up to 24-bit/192 kHz.

A unique feature is the DIN input, which can be connected to the new McIntosh MCT450 SACD/CD player transport, thus transmitting the full digital resolution of the SACD.
