In the 1970s, Jennifer Warnes worked as a backing singer for Leonard Cohen, giving her plenty of time to immerse herself in his songs. Her sixth studio album, Famous Blue Raincoat, is dedicated entirely to the poet and thinker. The record consists exclusively of Cohen songs—impressively performed by Jennifer Warnes's penetrating voice and with fantastic sound quality. To mark the album's 35th anniversary, Impex reissued the record as a one-step recording. The basis is the first-generation analog mix-down master of the original digital recording. In addition to the three 45-rpm LPs, the one-step album includes a 24-page accompanying book.
