This is partly due to the newly developed 40 mm driver with a beadless dome, which consists of a combination of different materials.

This sophisticated mix of materials ensures optimal strength and stability of the membrane and thus offers clear sound and the deepest bass with minimal distortion. A special rear housing called "Acoustic Control Chamber" ensures controlled airflow and gives the driver the best conditions for precise bass reproduction. In addition, special polymer thin-film capacitors are used - a technology that also ensures distortion-free signal flow in the audio circuits in the reference class amplifiers from Technics and raises the sound quality to an even higher level. In addition, the EAH-A800 supports the playback of HiRes audio data via Bluetooth and LDAC technology and thus delivers music in the highest resolution with a wide dynamic range and fast signal response.

First-class voice quality when making calls

A total of eight microphones are placed next to the right and left ear on the EAH-A800 and ensure absolutely interference-free, natural speech transmission when making calls. Four MEMS microphones take care of the pure recording of the voice in the highest quality. Thanks to "beamforming technology" in conjunction with noise reduction, four additional microphones ensure that no disturbing ambient noise affects the voice quality. Noise canceling is active during phone calls. A unique signal processing including speech analysis ensures that ambient noise is effectively suppressed and the voice is transmitted with crystal clarity.

Wind noise suppression

Wind noise can drastically affect the playback quality of calls when making calls outdoors, so Technics has adapted the design of the built-in microphones to effectively suppress annoying wind noise. Inside the capsules of the EAH-A800, "feed-forward microphones" are used to make the headphones less susceptible to noise and vibration caused by wind. Furthermore, the "main talk microphones" on the front and back have been provided with specially designed, fine-mesh grilles, and the "sub talk microphones" also have an attached windscreen to effectively prevent noise and vibration from direct wind .

The Dual Hybrid Noise Canceling technology, which combines analog filters, feedback microphones as well as feed-forward microphones and digital filters, can minimize disruptive noise inside and outside the headphones with an extraordinarily high performance.

Determine the sound mode yourself

The EAH-A800 headphones are equipped with two interaction modes. The "Natural Ambient Mode" allows the user to pay attention to all ambient noises even when listening to music or on the phone. With the "Attention Mode" the user can explicitly follow the voice announcements at airports or on the train, or talk to his family at home while also listening to music. The “Natural Ambient Mode” captures not only voices but also all other ambient noises, resulting in a more natural sound – almost as if you were not wearing headphones at all. It captures a wide range of sounds from low to high frequencies. Attention Mode reduces distracting external noise and makes it easier to hear other people's voices better. With the help of the free Technics Audio Connect app (available for Android and iOs), many settings and functions can be customized. Among other things, noise canceling and sound settings can be tailored according to personal taste, and the app also provides assistance in finding "misplaced" headphones.

Bluetooth multipoint pairing and 50 hours of battery life

Multipoint pairing allows two Bluetooth devices to be connected to the EAH-A800 at the same time. For example, if you are participating in a video conference with a laptop and need to discuss another matter with another person on the phone, you can start the call by simply touching the call button. The battery capacity of the EAH-A800 offers enough power for up to 50 hours of music playback or around 30 hours of talk time on the phone - far more than other noise-cancelling headphones.

Best wearing comfort

With the EAH-A800, great attention was paid to ensuring a comfortable fit and maximum comfort. Its 3D ear cushions feature a slightly curved design to evenly distribute the downforce over the entire ear. A memory foam material has been used for the ear cushions to ensure an extra comfortable and secure fit. The inner diameter of the ear cushion has been increased to fit comfortably around the ear, yet the headphones can be stored in a compact carrying case that is included in the package. A wearing sensor that automatically stops music playback when you take off the headphones provides additional convenience. If you put it back on within 60 seconds, playback will continue at exactly this point.
