Cambridge Audio pioneered the use of toroidal transformers in amplifiers, which helped improve performance. At Edge, they take it a step further and use reverse-balanced dual toroidal transformers. This balances out EMI while delivering outstanding performance and consistent pitch, no matter what the volume.

Effortless performance without distortion
A regular Class A amp wasn't efficient enough for the Edge A. Cambridge instead added bias to a conventional AB amplifier to reduce distortion to inaudible levels. This specific configuration also generates less heat and makes the whole system much more efficient.
