The C8 vacuum tube preamplifier has an open housing in an industrial design similar to our popular MC275 vacuum tube amplifier, MC830 solid state amplifier and the integrated amplifiers MA252 and MA352.
The preamplifier is powered by four 12AX7a vacuum tubes housed in stylish protective cages.
Has 1 balanced and 2 unbalanced analog inputs as well as 1 moving coil and 1 moving magnet phono input with adjustable load. 1 balanced and 2 unbalanced outputs.
Has no digital inputs, but is digital audio ready as our DA2 digital audio module can be installed in it as an optional dealer-installed upgrade. Dealer installed upgrade.
The DA2 has 7 digital inputs: 2 coaxial, 2 optical, 1 USB, 1 MCT (for use with our SACD / CD transports) and 1 pure HDMI audio return channel (ARC) return channel (ARC) 1 connection. Supports up to DSD512.
Bass and treble controls help fine-tune your music to suit your personal preferences.
Equipped with our high drive headphone amplifier, which has sufficient power
and flexibility to run a wide range of headphones.
Power Control can automatically turn other connected McIntosh components on and off. Data ports can send remote control commands to connected source components.
DA2 DAC module The C8 including DA2 module enables the direct connection of digital components. The DA2 has 7 digital inputs: 2 coaxial, 2 optical, 1 USB, 1 MCT (for use with our MCT500 or MCT80 SACD / CD transport) and 1 pure HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC) 1 connection. The DA2 is powered by a quadruple symmetrical 8-channel 32-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) of the next generation. The audiophile DAC is characterized by an improved dynamic range and an improved overall harmonic distortion. For high resolution audio playback, the USB input supports native playback up to DSD512 and DXD up to 384kHz, and the coaxial and optical inputs can decode digital music up to 24-bit / 192kHz| Color: | chrome |
