The PA 8.3 preamp is again the most complex preamp model in the OVATION series. Only one thing is consistently considered here: perfect sound. Just as musicians wanted their pieces to be in the original. Achieving this goal is an extremely difficult undertaking that requires a great deal of musical sensitivity, just like AVM has been doing since 1986. The goal of our engineering is to translate this musicality into devices for playback at home. The PA 8.2 has already received a large number of reference titles and awards worldwide and serves as a monitoring instrument for numerous musicians as well as well-known specialist magazines and specialist editors as a permanent reference. The new PA 8.3 will certainly do the same as its predecessor.

The mono and stereo power amplifiers of the AVM OVATION flagship series have been among the best power amplifiers in the world for a long time. So the demand for a 100% custom-fit PA 8.3 preamplifier was once again extremely high and yet simple at the same time: it had to be perfect. And yet, creating the third generation of our OVATION flagship analog and modular preamp was not just about defending the title as one of the world's best preamps: Instead, we have devised numerous new technologies over the past few years and our experienced engineers have mastered the latest and the best components are used to get even closer to our tonal ideal. The motto here: The best is just good enough!

In order to take it even further to the extreme, we have set ourselves the task of building a preamplifier that can also grow over the long term in the name of the rapidly developing computer hi-fi (as we call it) and the increasing demands on traditional analogue amplifiers. The PA 8.3 is based on a completely new, modular design. As with the first generation of the 8-series preamplifier, this modular concept enables the PA 8.3 to be expanded with further plug-in modules according to personal requirements and to be adapted to personal requirements or to easily retrofit the latest technological modules. The appearance of the PA 8.3 is precisely adapted to all power amplifiers of the OVATION flagship series.

The modular concept of the OVATION PA 8.3

The PA 8.3 consists of two parts: the basic device and the modules. The basic device carries the newly developed and complex linear power supply as well as the processor-based control for all functions and all modules, which can be combined in practically any way and put together for individual requirements. The basic device automatically recognizes which plug-in modules are installed and adjusts all menu functions of the basic device independently. The addition of further modules, an exchange or repositioning of modules on the back of the PA 8.3 is child's play and can be done quickly and with a few simple steps.
