Wisdom SA-2-DSP 2-Channel DSP Amplifier

The SA-2 amplifiers from Wisdom Audio are designed for use in high-quality audio and home theater systems. They offer two channels of 500 watts of power each into 4 ohms and are available in two versions: the classic SA-2 without digital signal processing and the SA-2-DSP with integrated DSP module and Dante™ support. Both models are suitable for professional installation and combine compact design with powerful amplifier technology.

With an efficiency of approximately 90%, the SA-2 models are among the most energy-efficient solutions on the market. Compared to conventional amplifiers, which dissipate a significant portion of their power consumption as heat, these models allow for space-saving integration into technical cabinets and racks, even with multiple units installed side by side.

Amplifier power and construction

Both models deliver two channels, each with 500 watts RMS power at 4 ohms (all channels driven simultaneously). The units are designed in a 2U (2RU) format and are suitable for installation in professional AV racks. Their construction is designed for reliability, durability, and consistent power output even during continuous operation.

Cooling is passive, aided by the high efficiency of the circuitry. This keeps heat generation low, which is advantageous in multi-amplifier installations.

SA-2-DSP: Advanced functions through digital signal processing

The SA-2-DSP model features an integrated DSP module that includes functions such as digital crossovers, parametric equalizers, delay correction, and gain adjustment. These options allow for precise adaptation to the room's layout and the speaker systems used.

Additionally, the SA-2-DSP is equipped with a Dante™-enabled audio input. This allows the device to be easily integrated into network-based audio infrastructures. The digital signal path can be fully controlled and distributed over IP, which is particularly advantageous for larger installations with centralized signal distribution.

Connection options and operation

The SA-2 amplifiers are equipped with balanced inputs and utilize high-quality connection components. The DSP model also features Cardas connectors and three 5-way speaker connectors, allowing for flexible signal routing and precise cabling.

The DSP model is operated and configured via a PC user interface accessible via a network connection (Ethernet). This interface provides access to all DSP functions for system adjustment and speaker calibration.

Typical areas of application

The SA-2 and SA-2-DSP models are suitable for both conventional speaker systems and active crossover systems. In combination with products from the Wisdom Sage Series or in systems with planar magnetic technology, they offer a suitable amplifier solution.

These models are particularly suitable for professional home theaters, multi-zone audio systems, or media rooms with demanding acoustic requirements. The ability to customize the DSP and integrate it via Dante offers additional flexibility in system planning.
