SPEAKER SYSTEM WITH POINT SOUND SOURCE

In order for sound to have the correct spatial expression, the wave fronts of the loudspeaker sound must reach the listener at the same time - regardless of the listening position. In other words: The speaker system should only have a single point source of sound. In the SB-C700, the newly developed, flat, coaxial 2-way loudspeaker unit (bass/midrange and treble unit) creates a point sound source that enables a gently directed characteristic without level drops across the entire frequency range. The Technics loudspeaker system therefore offers excellent localization and spatial imaging.

PHASE PRECISION DRIVER (COAXIAL 2-WAY FLAT SPEAKER SYSTEM)

Technics has developed a coaxial 2-way flat speaker unit for faithful reproduction of the entire audible frequency band from the bass to the highest treble range. The bass/midrange membrane consists of a high-strength surface made of carbon fiber fabric and an aluminum honeycomb support. The flat structure of the piston-shaped moving bass/midrange membrane eliminates annoying interference. The chassis made of die-cast aluminum and a structure made of resonance-dissipating struts prevent unwanted resonances.
All measures guarantee sensitive bass and midrange reproduction. The position of the dome tweeter in the center was also precisely adjusted to the midrange membrane in order to achieve reproduction with a linear phase. The tweeter dome is made of super light and stiff aluminum, which means that sounds in the ultra-high frequency range of up to 100 kHz can be reproduced - this is a masterpiece for audiophile ears.

RIGID BODY WITH A TAPERED DESIGN

The purpose of the loudspeaker housing is to securely accommodate the driver units. Undesirable resonances should also be suppressed and gentle sound radiation without edge reflections should be ensured. The 42 mm thick side walls ensure that edge diffraction is minimized. The layered plates used have different thicknesses for controlled resonance damping. Undesirable internal resonances are effectively mitigated by the different wall thicknesses and the rigidity of the housing. The acoustic damping material, its placement and enclosure volume have been optimized for each chassis to suppress standing waves inside the enclosure. The ring that surrounds the rear of the main chassis suspension is made of a material with high internal damping and thus suppresses all sound components that arise in addition to the sound controlled by the loudspeaker membranes. The high-gloss housing is created in a complex process involving multiple painting, sanding, polishing and finishing with a high level of craftsmanship. The housing looks beautiful and prevents the finest vibrations that arise on the surface of the housing, thus contributing to the reproduction of the true-to-original, spatial sound image. The front covering protects the membranes and is held magnetically; This means there are no annoying elements on the front panel that could impair the sound quality. The cover can of course be removed at any time.

HIGH QUALITY CROSSOVER

In order to maximize the performance of each individual speaker chassis and achieve reproduction with maximum balance, the extremely precise crossover design was designed in a complex process. Only the highest quality components such as polyester film capacitors, silicone-damped ferrite coils, air coils and wiring made of oxygen-free copper wire were used for production.

ULTRA WIDE RANGE REPRODUCTION

The Technics speaker system SB-C700 can reproduce high-resolution music sources with a frequency range between 20 Hz and 100 kHz. The system is also equipped with a coaxial 2-way flat speaker unit. The result is a faithful music reproduction with all the subtleties.

Technics today announced the launch of the new SA-C600 compact network CD receiver, part of the new premium C600 series. The new powerful and compact SB-C600 speakers have been available since November 2021 and harmonize perfectly with the SA-C600 in terms of both sound and appearance.
