One of the weakest links of any high-end system is undoubtedly the quality of the electricity that comes out of the socket. Due to the many switched-mode power supplies in PCs, TV sets, microwaves or light dimmers, the 50Hz mains AC voltage is overlaid by disruptive high-frequency and DC voltage. The occasional share of DC voltage ensures that otherwise quiet transformers in devices suddenly start to hum, and that the sound suddenly changes depending on the time of day or day of the week and becomes undifferentiated and dull. Burmester audio systems were the first to recognize this problem and respond:
Our Power Conditioner 948 actively suppresses this superimposed DC voltage. Burmester Audiosysteme holds a patent for this process. Another built-in function of the device are high-quality high-frequency line filters. In addition, 8 high-quality mains connection sockets, wired in a star configuration and can be switched on remotely using a preamplifier, make the device the ideal power supply for any high-end system.
The Power Conditioner combines 4 functions in one device:
Active DC suppression in the AC network without limiting the power consumption (patented)
High-quality high-frequency filters perfectly eliminate interfering high-frequency components of the AC voltage network, right down to the audible range
8 high-quality mains sockets are connected in a star shape
selected mains sockets can be switched on remotely via relays (must be specified when ordering)

The world's first high-end power supply unit that keeps both high frequency and direct current (DC) away from the system
Active DC voltage compensation (patented) eliminates low-frequency mains disturbances that cause sudden transformer hum or sporadically change the sound pattern
DC voltage compensation affects all mains output sockets and works parallel to the mains, therefore no unwanted attenuation of the mains cable
8 mains output sockets for connecting the entire hi-fi system (amplifiers that draw more than 10 A must be connected to the wall socket in parallel next to the power conditioner - the DC compensation is also effective because it works in parallel with the mains)
