The Sonos Roam 2 is a super-compact, smart, rugged wireless speaker with an impressive battery life of up to 10 hours and a host of unique features that put it in a class of its own among small portable speakers. The Sonos Roam 2 features a true two-way speaker system with a woofer/midrange driver and separate tweeter, each with its own amplifier. This feature is rare in portable speakers of this size and is one of the reasons why the Sonos Roam 2 outperforms the competition in the Bluetooth category. While it's not a hi-fi speaker for serious listening, it sounds surprisingly good considering its very compact size.

Easy to use, ready for voice control and multiroom

Enjoy wireless music without restrictions - whether you're on the go or at home. The Sonos Roam 2 has both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and can automatically switch between them depending on what you need. At home, you can play wirelessly from your phone via Bluetooth (eg audio from YouTube) and share the music to other wireless Sonos speakers via your Wi-Fi.

The new smart Sound Swap feature lets you switch sound with ease. Simply press and hold the play/pause button and the music will automatically switch to the next Sonos speaker. As soon as you walk through the door, you can continue listening on the home system. Conversely, you can 'swap' from the home system to the Sonos Roam 2 and continue playing via Bluetooth when you walk out.

The buttons on the top let you pause the music, skip a track, or turn up the volume when you don't have your phone handy. You can also wirelessly connect the Sonos Roam 2 to other Sonos speakers in the house (multiroom). Fill different rooms with different songs, or group them together to get the same sound everywhere.

Use voice control to start music while you cook. Or ask it to turn up the volume while you're in the shower. You can even have your kids' favorite lullaby play while you put them to bed.

Enjoy wireless music with the Sonos app and Trueplay

The full range of great Sonos options, including full app control (iOS/Android) and the market's widest selection of integrated streaming services such as Spotify, TIDAL, Deezer and Napster, are also on board with Roam 2. With automatic Trueplay, the Sonos Roam's sound is optimally tuned to the conditions without you having to think about it. Place it on a table on the patio, on a towel on the beach or in the corner of the bathroom - Trueplay does the rest for you.

The Sonos Roam 2 is available in a range of colours. An optional wireless magnetic charger is available. A standard USB-C cable for charging is included. Alternatively, you can use a standard Qi charger.

Note: Like other newer Sonos products, the Sonos Roam 2 requires Sonos' new S2 app to work. If you have older Sonos products in your system, you may need to use a separate S1 app for them. If you value good sound for movies and TV, but don't want to deal with a system and cables, Sonos has the right solution for you. If you add two wireless Sonos speakers as surround back channels to your Sonos soundbar, you get a 5-channel surround system that takes your movie experience to the next level. If you want even more and better bass, you can upgrade further with a wireless Sonos subwoofer.

Although this is not yet a true surround home cinema, you get a film sound that does justice to today's excellent picture quality. The Sonos app – stream music from all over the world

With the free Sonos app for Apple iOS/Android, you have music from all over the world at your fingertips, whether you choose music from your music library on your PC/Mac or your network drive, from Internet radio or via streaming services such as TIDAL, Spotify, Apple Music and Deezer.

The special tablet app is in a class of its own, because navigating through the many options and looking at the album covers is really fun on a large color display. Alternatively, you can control everything from your computer.

Whichever option you choose, you'll always have an intuitive and clear user interface that makes playing music throughout the house a breeze. The units communicate freely with each other under all conditions, so the whole family can easily use multiple app controls in different rooms - at the same time!

Stream music directly from your smartphone or tablet

If you prefer to store your music on your smartphone/tablet rather than on your computer or network drive, Sonos gives you smart options. When you're on your wireless network, just open the Sonos app, select 'My Sonos' and play music from your portable music library. Your smartphone or tablet is also a smart place to store music that for some reason isn't available on streaming services. Some portable Sonos speakers also have Bluetooth, so you can play music wirelessly anywhere without the need for a Wi-Fi network.

Many options for discerning ears

With Sonos you can stream audio in full CD quality, creating a true hi-fi solution. Either by streaming from a lossless music service like TIDAL HiFi or from your own music collection on a computer or network hard drive.

To get started, all you need is your smartphone/tablet/PC and a simple wireless Sonos speaker. If you want to listen to music wirelessly in an additional room, all you need to do is set up another Sonos speaker, follow the instructions on the display and wait a moment, then everything is ready to go.

If you want to use Sonos' extra-robust wireless network - SonosNet - instead of your regular Wi-Fi network, a speaker/music player (or a Sonos network adapter) must have a wired connection to your network router.

SonosNet offers significantly improved coverage because the individual Sonos components in a mesh network complement each other and distribute the signal stably throughout your home. A big advantage, especially if you live in a large house or on multiple floors.

Trueplay – Optimized sound, regardless of placement

Trueplay is a really smart feature that uses your smartphone/tablet and a series of test tones to optimize the sound of wireless Sonos speakers - even in combination with a Sonos subwoofer or a Sonos surround setup. You place the speaker(s) where you want them and follow the instructions in the app.

After a few measurements with test tones, Sonos automatically adjusts the sound balance. The result is the best possible sound in the largest possible room, without you having to make any adjustments with the sound controls. On some Sonos speakers, Trueplay runs fully automatically, without you having to use your phone. Then you can concentrate fully on enjoying the good sound.

Ideal for built-in solutions

If you are planning to play music throughout your home as part of a new build or renovation, Sonos offers you countless options. For example, you can install built-in speakers in all the rooms you plan to build and lay the speaker cables in the walls to a central technical cabinet or to your office where the network router is located. Here you place the Sonos player and, if necessary, an amplifier and have invisible room sound throughout the house in the quality you want in every room - with a comprehensive remote control.
