Bowers & Wilkins AM-1
AM stands for Architectural Monitor. Behind this lies a unique loudspeaker that means you no longer have to make any compromises in terms of sound. Instead, it impresses with the brilliant audio performance you would expect from a Bowers & Wilkins loudspeaker.
The Bowers & Wilkins AM-1 is a 2-way loudspeaker in which the 25 mm aluminium dome tweeter is positioned below rather than above the fibreglass woofer. This results in optimum dispersion when the loudspeaker is mounted high on the wall. The bass reproduction is optimised by a passive radiator (Auxiliary Bass Radiator (ABR)) which is located on the rear of the cabinet and can easily withstand bad weather conditions. This replaces the conventional bass reflex port and ensures a powerful and impressive bass in a cabinet of this size. These ingenious features and the simple crossover make the Bowers & Wilkins AM-1 an incredibly powerful and flexible loudspeaker.
The Bowers & Wilkins AM-1 has been designed to be extremely easy to install and extremely flexible, meaning it can be positioned horizontally and vertically. This unique speaker features a rust-resistant aluminum grill and a fiberglass-reinforced plastic housing, so it is optimally protected even in extreme conditions such as dirt, moisture and UV radiation. And although the AM-1 is an ideal outdoor speaker, its timeless design and unique sound characteristics also make it ideal for use indoors.
