Of course, the truism is true that you can never have enough of something good. However, there are things that – no matter how good they may be – don't fit into every living room.

But fortunately the speaker that Dynaudio would like to introduce to you here is not one of them. The Evoke 20 is a full-sized compact speaker that is suitable for almost any room. Its powerful woofer/midrange driver with a diameter of 18 cm ensures that it doesn't run out of steam so quickly even under load, while the fabric tweeter with a diameter of 28 mm accurately reproduces even the subtlest details. And of course, Danish design looks fantastic anywhere. Everything just fits here.

The Evoke 20 was designed by people who love music. Hundreds of hours were invested not only in measurements, but in intensive listening, and that means: concentrated listening, authentic music, in real rooms. So when you listen to the most beautiful pieces from your own music collection through these speakers, you will discover the same thing our developers did: something new.

Advanced driver technology

The diaphragm of the 18 cm diameter Esotec+ woofer, which is only 0.4 mm thick, is made of MSP (magnesium silicate polymer) - a material we developed ourselves and which we have been using for our diaphragms at Dynaudio for a long time. It is characterized by the perfect synthesis of lightness, rigidity and damping, which (together with the new strontium carbonate Ferrite+ ceramic magnet system) ensures absolutely balanced reproduction of mids and bass.

The entire membrane is made from a single piece of MSP. This design is superior to the alternatives (gluing on a dust cap or leaving an opening) because the membrane is much more rigid - and less distorted. This also creates a more resilient connection to the voice coil. And that means that even more kinetic energy can be transferred from this voice coil to the membrane via the balance ribs around the center.

The Evoke 20's 52mm voice coil is made of aluminum. Dynaudio chose aluminum instead of copper for this speaker because this material offers the right balance of weight and winding height to reproduce bass frequencies powerfully on the one hand and to obtain the necessary mechanical and electrical damping on the other. The middle frequencies, which are particularly important for musical details, are also reproduced in detail.

A Nomex centering spider ensures the correct alignment and movement of the entire ensemble. The surround derived from the new contour ensures a larger radiation area and correspondingly more power and “punch”.

The new Cerotar tweeter

The tweeter is a new development. It's called Cerotar and is based on key technologies derived from award-winning Esotar Forty tweeters as well as the new Esotar3 that you'll find in the high-end Confidence series.

This is - in this respect it is no different from other Dynaudio tweeters - a precision-coated fabric dome with a diameter of 28 mm. This coating is applied precisely in the right places at the right thickness to optimize high-frequency reproduction - a process that has been refined in the development of our most exclusive loudspeakers.

Behind the dome is a special component that we borrowed from the high-end speaker Confidence - the Hexis. This is a special internal dome that shapes the airflow to smooth the frequency response and prevent unwanted resonances that would affect treble response.

Like the Esotec+ woofer, it has the new strontium carbonate Ferrite+ ceramic magnet at its heart, which ensures increased sensitivity, improved detail resolution and natural, dynamic reproduction.

Or to put it more simply: "With these speakers you can enjoy music for many hours without tiring your ears." So, let's go: get the prog-rock quadruple album down from the attic!

Created for real life

Dynaudio designers conducted real field research when developing the Evoke. They visited exhibition houses, furniture stores and, of course, real homes in Denmark. The Evoke 20 should cut a good figure everywhere, both aesthetically and sonically. It was important to be able to imagine the loudspeakers in a variety of living spaces - because living and listening are something very individual. You're sitting on the couch with a coffee, the dog is sleeping in its basket - when everything fits, it's called hygge in Denmark, and Evoke should fit into this image.

That's why the four Evoke case versions are so appealing at first glance. Choose between “Black High Gloss” and “White High Gloss” (in these two variants a new painting process ensures a breathtaking, glass-like look) and the warm and organic-looking variants “Walnut Wood” and “Blonde Wood” with their open veneer structure .

The housings are tapered towards the top, based on the Contour and Confidence series. The mounting screws are hidden behind elegant one-piece decorative rings. And because good design doesn't get older, you can be sure that these speakers will continue to broadcast not only great-sounding music but also reliable taste in 30 years.
