The Bowers & Wilkins CT SW12 is a purpose-built subwoofer for use in custom home theater systems. Part of the Custom Theater series, this model is designed for users who don't want to compromise on bass reproduction. Featuring a heavy-duty 300 mm woofer in a compact, sealed enclosure, the CT SW12 delivers precise and deep bass reproduction, supporting both film and music with impressive dynamics and clarity.
Advanced driver technology
At its heart is a 12-inch driver with a stiff yet lightweight diaphragm made of an aramid fiber and paper blend. This material combination ensures high internal damping and precise piston movement, even at high levels. The chassis is mounted in a robust housing designed for minimal vibration and maximum control. The construction ensures fast response and allows for detailed reproduction of even complex bass lines.
Perfect tuning through external amplifier
The CT SW12 is designed as a passive system and requires an external subwoofer amplifier. Combined with the matching SA1000 mono amplifier, the subwoofer achieves optimal performance. The amplifier delivers up to 1,000 watts of power into 4 ohms and offers comprehensive adjustment options, including a variable low-pass filter, a phase switch, and various EQ modes for optimal adaptation to room acoustics and playback content.
Flexible use despite high performance
Despite its power, the CT SW12 remains surprisingly compact. Thanks to its enclosed cabinet, it's relatively easy to install and can be placed inside furniture, behind screens, or in acoustically optimized wall modules. The magnetically attached black front panel facilitates integration into virtually any room design without compromising acoustics.
Uniform system design
As part of the B&W CT series, the CT SW12 harmonizes both technically and visually with the other speakers in the series. Its mechanical strength, efficiency, and acoustic characteristics are tuned to create a cohesive and consistent sound across the entire frequency range—particularly when paired with front, center, and surround speakers from the CT700 or CT800 series.
