Emit 50
Hi-Fi starts with Emit
Large floorstanding speakers for music and home cinema
Whether you want to set up a powerful stereo system or enjoy surround sound cinema or music from Blu-rays in a larger room: the Emit 50 is there for you.
A pair of these large floorstanding speakers makes an impressive statement in every way. With the Emit 50, you can take big strides in terms of sound without your bank advisor suffering a heart attack. Their audiophile technology and fine tuning ensure room-filling hi-fi sound - and at a price level that is also accessible to newcomers to the world of high-end sound.
The Emit 50 offers performance and sonic finesse that you would otherwise probably have to pay double the price for. But why should you do that? The ensemble of two 18 cm woofers, two 15 cm midrange drivers and the 28 mm fabric tweeter Cerotar has been consistently optimized for one task: to enable the best possible sound experience; even at cinema volume.
High performance woofer
Let's start at the bottom (in the frequency spectrum): The woofers of the Emit 50 live up to their name. In each Emit 50, two 18 cm diameter units of the type used in the Emit 20 are used. Technologies that were developed for our high-end product families Evoke, Contour i and Confidence are used here. They offer an amazing bass performance that clearly surpasses its predecessor. This means that the loudspeaker really goes far down in the bass range (specifically: -3 dB at 33 Hz - a value that you, as a numbers-mad Dynaudio fan, will be familiar with from our Contour 60i and Confidence 60 loudspeakers). Nevertheless, the case has dimensions that are extremely suitable for living rooms.
The one-piece cones are made of Magnesium Silicate Polymer (MSP) - a material developed by Dynaudio. The dust cap is also not glued on, but part of the membrane. The fact that the membrane is made of one piece and not glued together enables a much better connection between the playback surface and the voice coil behind it. And that in turn leads to better controllability: Less unwanted distortion and resonances occur. But more details are audible - even in the lower bass range.
In contrast to the other loudspeakers in the product family, we use copper voice coils for the woofers of the Emit 50. That's because they don't have to be quite as nimble as their counterparts in the other models (such as the Emit 20) that also cover the mids. This allows us to use copper - a heavier material that allows for more "punch". The "Dual Stacked" magnet system of the woofers is optimized to transfer the energy directly to the voice coil.
Dedicated midrange driver
The midrange speaker is completely different. It is only available in this form on the Emit 50. It is based on the midrange driver from the Evoke series, which in turn inherited it from our high-end Contour product family. It features a powerful ferrite ceramic magnet, a short, mid-range optimized version of the 38mm diameter aluminum voice coil, and a lightweight surround. This midrange driver is tuned for speed and precision—qualities that make it ideal for nuanced vocals, violins, wind instruments, and anything else you want to hear in detail.
The tweeter: Highly enjoyable
In the Emit 50 we use the Cerotar tweeter. Connoisseurs will know that it comes from our Evoke range. Key technologies are used here that were developed for our award-winning anniversary speaker Special Forty, for the legendary Confidence and for the professional studio reference monitors of the Core series. Our developers are really proud of this tweeter - and rightly so.
A supporting element in the truest sense of the word for the 28 mm diameter fabric tweeter is another Dynaudio innovation: the Hexis. This ingenious, knobbed inner dome is placed so close behind the fabric of the membrane that it can prevent unwanted resonances from being reflected onto the back of the playback surface. This ensures a balanced frequency response and flawlessly transparent, silky highs. This is where the details of your favorite recordings become audible.
The "heart" of the Cerotar tweeter is a powerful ferrite+ strontium carbonate ceramic magnet, which makes it particularly agile. This creates an even more realistic image of the original recording in front of your ears. You hear what you want to hear - no more, no less. And because the sound is so natural and not "spiced up", fatigue does not set in so quickly. So you can enjoy your favorite music for even longer.
Clever crossovers
The crossover of the Emit 50 is a hybrid design. It starts with a traditional Dynaudio first-order circuit for the tweeter, a second-order design for the midrange and a fourth-order topology for the woofers. Of course, we could have used a simple "one size fits all" variant - but that would have required compromises in playback quality that our developers simply aren't willing to make.
Authentic Danish design
The housings are designed and optimized at our company headquarters in Denmark. They are made of 18 mm thick MDF boards and cushioned with a specially selected polyester material. This ensures that the chassis of the Emit 50 find an optimal, stable working environment.
There are three laminate surfaces to choose from – Black, White and Walnut. The black loudspeaker covers are fixed to the housing with magnets. You decide for yourself whether your Emit loudspeakers should stand out as an "eye-catcher" or whether they should be integrated unobtrusively into the living environment. So whether you want a homogeneous appearance or, for example, want to place a pair of Emit 50s in a surround system as an aesthetic counterpoint to the other loudspeakers - a lot is possible here. mix and match!
Whether you're putting together a new high-end system or upgrading an existing stereo system, the Emit 50 brings a unique combination of performance and finesse to your music and movies in your living room.
Simple and unfussy
The Emit range of speakers suit modern lifestyles and interiors. Whether it's a classic stereo system or a large surround system: clear lines, simple surfaces and the typically minimalistic Scandinavian design also create aesthetically clear relationships.
The Cerotar tweeter
The Emit uses the profiled Cerotar tweeter from our Evoke series. This is a particularly high quality tweeter inspired by our high-end Confidence and Heritage Special ranges. Among other things, it owes its exceptional performance to the innovative, resonance-reducing Hexis inner dome.
Developed and engineered in Denmark
The entire Emit product family was put through its paces in our high-end Jupiter measuring system in the Dynaudio Labs. The Emit loudspeakers have to meet the same strict criteria as all other loudspeakers in our range. Every detail is measured; everything is put to the test.
