The definition and neutrality in the midrange are also outstanding. In addition, there is the IAL tweeter of the latest generation, which clearly brings out even the finest details. With this speaker, with its highly original design, the main focus is on the sound - that's how the essence of the Kanta can be summed up in a few words! In three years of research, Focal has developed a new combination of exclusive hi-fi technologies: a mix of beryllium for the latest generation of the IAL3 tweeter and flax for the midrange and woofer chassis.
Another strength of this series is its striking appearance: the resolutely modern, groundbreaking design adds an aesthetic icing on the cake to the outstanding acoustics. The eight glossy or matt front finishes allow numerous combinations. With so many different colors - from eye-catching to classically subtle - there is something for every taste. beryllium and flax
For the first time, a loudspeaker with a flax sandwich cone meets a tweeter with a beryllium cone. Flax contributes to the perfect blend of low mass, high strength and good damping, leading to the desired result: a clear, precise sound. This unique combination of flax and beryllium gives music rich timbre and clarity. Made in France, the patented flax cone has already proven itself in Focal loudspeakers for homes and vehicles. The mid-range speaker has a TMD surround (Tuned Mass Damping). In addition, each Kanta speaker is equipped with a NIC drive (Neutral Inductance Circuit) that stabilizes the magnetic field for a clearly defined sound and better controlled bass.

High Density Polymer
Everything is designed for a warm, pleasant sound: both the density and strength of the baffle and the housing, the flowing edges and the two bass reflex openings. A new material was used for the baffle, which favors the acoustics. It is made of one piece and consists of high-density polymer (High-Density Polymer, HDP). This material has special characteristics: Compared to MDF fiberboard, it is 70% denser, 15% more rigid and also offers 25% more cushioning. Thanks to the one-piece front, there is no more diffraction.
New tweeter
Distortion is the enemy
Focal's research aims to reduce distortion - the enemy of every emotion in music - in all pitches. With the Kanta, the high notes are reproduced by an all-new pure beryllium tweeter. This IAL3 tweeter combines the characteristics of an IAL tweeter (Infinite Acoustic Loading) and an IHL tweeter (Infinite Horn Loading), both of which favor the absorption of waves and thus lower the resonant frequency of the tweeter.

Elegance can be so clear...
Our engineers based the construction on the Focus Time so that the speaker drivers are the same distance from the listener. The rear case is constructed from a single piece of molded plywood. The zamak base also gives the speaker a special character. Thanks to the spikes and slides, the base ensures high stability despite the extremely low ground contact. Last details: the top cover glass plate and the magnetic fixation of the covers. If the covers are removed, the speakers' flax cones can be seen, giving the design that certain something and the Kanta its unique look!

Numerous combinations are possible so that there is something for every furnishing style. The rear case is available in high gloss black or walnut veneer. A front with four different colors is available in two versions for each of these finishes. There are four fronts for the rear housing in high gloss: Carrara White, Gauloise Blue, Solar Yellow and Black Lacquer in high gloss. The rear case with walnut veneer is available with the following front variants: Ivory, Warm Taupe, Gauloise Blue and Dark Gray each in a matt finish.
