Audio Physic Luna subwoofer
A good subwoofer opens up new perspectives. It can reveal up to 30 percent more of what is actually contained in your recordings, since it penetrates into frequency regions that even many floorstanding loudspeakers do not reach in the bass.
Therefore, subwoofers like the LUNA are not only suitable for use in a surround system, but also enrich the sound in a stereo configuration.
The LUNA is equipped with a powerful 25 centimeter woofer. The generously dimensioned membrane surface powerfully stimulates the surrounding air to vibrate even with small deflections. Distortion components that influence the sound, which almost inevitably occur with large strokes, are kept in check; In addition, the sound radiation downwards (“down-firing”) with a defined distance to the floor guarantees even room stimulation.
A power plant with 120 watts of power guarantees the LUNA plenty of reserves, so that it doesn't get into trouble even with brute bass passages. The practice-oriented connection and operating terminal allows sensitive adjustment to the room and the existing loudspeakers. The LUNA can be controlled both via the loudspeaker outputs of an amplifier and via the LFE or sub output of a receiver.
Like the chassis and drive, the body of the LUNA is also carefully developed and precisely manufactured. Inconsistently designed cabinets offer distortions an ideal target; During operation, parts of the cabinet vibrate quickly to the beat of the music. The result is audible discolouration and an imprecise sound pattern, which affects not only the bass but also the fundamental tone and mids. A subwoofer should not emit any sounds in this frequency range, but this is possible due to distortion components. As a result, the location of the subwoofer can be located. To rule this out, the LUNA has a very solid construction with walls with a thick cross-section and internal struts that additionally stiffen the housing.
