Despite all the minimalism, the design already indicates the significant progress that is in this phono stage. Visually inspired by the legendary absolute phono, the basic V2 also pairs audiophile innovation with Clearaudio's grown analogue expertise.

Its housing is milled from high-quality solid aluminum and is available in the original color of the material or black anodized. As the only visible control element, a discreet power switch is enthroned on the top, which, once actuated, opens up the whole variety of complex sound spectra.

This can be optimally exploited according to the technical equipment of the user: On the underside, a switch can be used to manually select between moving coil (MC) and moving magnet (MM) operation.

Due to the pickup adjustment in active MC operation, the basic V2 is compatible with most demanding MC systems on the market without further settings. Their equipment guarantees a significant improvement in performance. On the one hand, there are the gold-plated RCA inputs and outputs, the processing of which sets standards in terms of quality and performance for interference-free signal transmission.
On the other hand, the basic V2 has an optional switchable subsonic filter that suppresses extremely low, potentially disruptive frequencies in MM/MC operation. The RIAA equalization accuracy is well below 0.1 decibels.

Due to such features, an analogue sound image of revolutionary authenticity is revealed in the audiophile all-rounder segment. Preserved music has never been accessible to the broad target group of consumers in such detail.
