The weekend duel
On December 5, 1980, the Warfield Theater in San Francisco was the scene of a special duel. Al Di Meola, John McLoughlin and Paco De Lucia line up in the ultimate guitar showdown. Captured on 'Friday Night in San Francisco', it is familiar to everyone who deals with music in general and guitar music in particular these days.
The following Saturday tapings were also made at the Warfield Theatre. This evening's tapes were kept by Al Di Meola for years, restored and remastered by Bernie Grundman.
