AudioQuest is pleased to announce that the 'Rivers' series of analog cables has been substantially redesigned and expanded. The Red River is the cost-effective entry into the line; the venerable Diamondback and King Cobra have been replaced by two new cost-effective models, the Mackenzie and a third 'River', the Yukon.
The Mackenzie and Yukon use Perfect Surface Copper+ (PSC+), Audioquest's best conductor material. In addition to this perfect conductor material, the Yukon can already draw on the sonic advantages of polyethylene air tubes, which minimize distortion even better. While the Red River uses the metal-layer-based Noise Dissipation System (NDS), the Mackenzie and Yukon use the higher-quality three-layer carbon-based Noise Dissipation System.
Red River, Mackenzie and Yukon also feature the latest developments in AudioQuest connector design. The connectors on all three cables are completely new. Additionally, the Mackenzie and Yukon's connectors are made from pure Purple Copper. The Red River's connectors are cold welded and gold plated; the Mackenzie and Yukon use Hanging Silver - a process where the copper connectors are dipped ('hung') in a vessel of high purity silver to create a very thick direct silver plating.
