The Chord Alto headphone amplifier offers a well thought-out combination of performance and flexibility. Developed to optimally operate both headphones and compact speakers, it impresses with innovative technology and high-quality components. The compact design enables easy integration into various setups - be it at the desk, in the living room or as part of a hi-fi system.
With four headphone outputs on the front, the Chord Alto offers a wide range of connection options. These include a 3.5 mm connection, two 6.35 mm jack sockets and a 4.4 mm Pentaconn output. The latter supports pseudo-symmetrical signal transmission, which was specially developed for high-resolution headphones. Thanks to this variety, different headphones can be compared directly or several users can connect at the same time.
Powerful headphone amplifier with ULTIMA technology
The integrated ULTIMA amplifier technology ensures high signal stability and minimal distortion. The dual feed-forward error correction detects and corrects signal deviations early on before they reach the power amplifier. This results in precise and clean playback, regardless of the connected headphone impedance.
The Chord Alto provides an output power of 25 watts at 8 ohms or 50 watts at 4 ohms for operating loudspeakers. This makes the amplifier particularly suitable for bookshelf speakers and near-field monitors. The loudspeaker outputs are designed as banana jacks and accommodate a variety of cable connections.
Flexible connection options for every setup
In addition to the wide range of headphone outputs, the Chord Alto offers an extensive connection section on the back. Two inputs are available - a pair of XLR and a pair of RCA sockets. This allows the amplifier to be flexibly integrated into existing hi-fi systems or professional studio environments. In addition, an XLR loop-through output enables the signal to be passed on to other devices.
There is also a 12V DC output that can be used to power additional devices. This feature is particularly useful for compact setups where several components are connected together.
