Bowers & Wilkins AM-1
AM stands for Architectural Monitor. Behind it is a unique loudspeaker, with which you no longer have to make any compromises in terms of sound. Instead, it delivers the brilliant audio performance you'd expect from a Bowers & Wilkins speaker.
The Bowers & Wilkins AM-1 is a 2-way speaker with the 25mm aluminum dome tweeter sitting under the fiberglass woofer instead of over it. This leads to optimal radiation behavior when the speaker is mounted high on the wall. The bass reproduction is optimized by a passive radiator (Auxiliary Bass Radiator (ABR)), which is located on the back of the housing and can easily withstand bad weather conditions. This replaces the conventional bass reflex port and provides powerful and impressive bass in a cabinet of this size. These ingenious features and the simply constructed crossover make the Bowers & Wilkins AM-1 an incredibly powerful and flexible loudspeaker.
When developing the Bowers & Wilkins AM-1, attention was paid to easy installation and maximum flexibility. It can be aligned horizontally and vertically. This unique speaker has a rust-resistant aluminum grill and a housing made of glass fiber reinforced plastic, so that it is optimally protected even in extreme conditions such as dirt, moisture and UV radiation. And although the AM-1 is an ideal outdoor speaker, its timeless design and unique sound characteristics make it ideal for indoor use as well.
