McIntosh C70AC

Anniversary tube amp

McIntosh's 70th Anniversary retro-style tube preamp is fully analog with five 12AX7A and one 12AT7 vacuum tube and features extremely high-quality MM/MC inputs.

The glass front features special McIntosh 70th Anniversary lettering.

The C70 has one 12AT7 and five 12AX7A vacuum tubes visible through a glass panel on the top cover. All operations are performed using buttons and rocker switches. Modern LED indicators show input selection and volume. The C70 has seven inputs consisting of two balanced inputs, three unbalanced inputs and one each moving coil and moving magnet phono input. For the outputs there are two pairs of balanced and unbalanced connections.

Bass and treble controls are included on the front panel and can be adjusted in 2dB increments via rotary knobs. Rotary controls are also used to adjust the impedance and capacitance of the phono inputs. In addition to adjusting the listening level, the volume control also allows you to adjust the relative volume balance between the left and right audio channels.

A ¼-inch headphone jack, powered by the McIntosh High Drive headphone amplifier, is included and features our Headphone Crossfeed Director (HXD®) technology. HXD adds dimension to your music in a natural-sounding way, but can be turned off depending on your preferences. The following functions are controlled with five rocker switches: sound control on/off; switch between mono and stereo mode; HXD on / off; and to turn on and off independent outputs 1 and 2.

Sitting on a beautiful polished stainless steel chassis, the C70 features the timeless McIntosh black glass front, illuminated logo, control knobs and aluminum end caps. The C70's Power Control technology features four terminals that can be used to automatically turn on and off other connected McIntosh components such as an amplifier, CD player or turntable. Data connections are also provided and can control basic functions of the connected McIntosh source components via the C70's remote control.
