The brand new S/812 – Revolutionary performance increase
With the S/812, every aspect of the previous generation has been thoroughly analyzed and optimized to achieve even more impressive performance. Every component, from amplification to driver technology and special filters, has been redesigned to maximize the unit's potential. In addition, the housing and its structural properties have been improved to best support the technical upgrades. The result is an exceptional development that exceeds even the highest expectations.
Advanced performance for highest sound quality
The objective was to achieve significantly increased bass performance in the frequency range between 19 and 35 Hz, significantly improved dynamics for home cinema applications and an even more open and spatial sound reproduction for music and film. This was achieved by using the powerful NextGen5 amplifier, which operates at 800 watts (RMS) and has enormous power reserves. To support this increased performance, the driver was equipped with a light carbon fiber coating on the back. This is complemented by specially developed filters that enable maximum precision and spatiality. In addition, the S/812 offers the option of being stacked in line arrays of four or six units - a technology that was previously reserved for the reference models.
Innovative bass technology with pure carbon fiber
To handle the huge increase in power, the S/812's ContinuousCast™ aluminum cone has been reinforced with an ultra-lightweight pure carbon fiber beam. This strategically placed reinforcement on the back of the cone not only increases the rigidity and stability of the driver, but also prevents unwanted vibrations. This ensures that the bass is reproduced more precisely and at higher volumes without being affected by cabinet resonances.
High-performance passive cooler for maximum efficiency
The S/812's specially tuned passive radiator uses a unique suspension with an additional 30 mm of linear travel. This technology enables exceptionally high output power that significantly exceeds conventional subwoofers. The new SuperProgressive™ radiator allows extreme cone movement without losing control of the suspension. This means the system combines the advantages of a compact, sealed 12-inch enclosure with the performance of a 14-inch system under heavy load.
800-watt amplifier – performance at the highest level
With an increased output of 800 watts, the NextGen5 amplifier is based on the technology of the reference models. The 45% increase in power compared to the previous model (500 watts) ensures lower output levels, which are required for both home cinema applications and high-quality 2-channel music systems. The key to the impressive performance lies in the newly developed PerfectFilter™ technology, which optimizes both frequency extremes.
PerfectFilter™ serves two essential functions: Firstly, it ensures a smooth and extended reproduction of the lowest bass frequencies, while at the same time supporting an airier and more refined sound representation in the mid and high frequency ranges. In addition, specially developed PureTheatre™ filters have been implemented to give the S/812 exceptional performance in film effects - a feature that sets it apart from other subwoofers in its class.
S-Series Line Array – Multidimensional sound reproduction
In real-world environments, bass extends not only in width and depth, but also in height. By stacking up to three units per side - either in a stereo setup or as part of a home theater speaker system - a three-dimensional sound perspective is created. This results in a significant improvement in spatial representation and opens up new dimensions of audio reproduction.
