Slim and compact

The 704 S3 from Bowers & Wilkins is the most compact floorstanding speaker in the 700 S3 series. When space is at a premium, it offers the perfect compromise between high-fidelity music reproduction and unobtrusive design.

bass

The small model from B&W also has two large Aerofoil Profile woofers, for whose bass pressure the English loudspeaker specialists are known.

Mid and high frequencies

Thanks to the decoupled Continuum membrane of the FST™ midrange driver, which is also used in the 704 S3, it is able to produce a crystal-clear
Midrange reproduction. Combined with the carbon dome tweeter, the Bowers & Wilkins 704 S3 opens up new horizons for the listener, especially in small listening rooms.

Features and technical data

- 3-way floorstanding speakers
- Weight: 21 kg (per piece)
- W/H/D: 252/964/321 (incl. base)

The new 700 S3 series

Solid Body Tweeter

The 700 Series features the latest generation of solid-body tweeters. Its new, longer design ensures even fewer reflections and an even more open high frequency. The carefully decoupled cabinet is milled from a solid block of aluminum to more effectively prevent resonance.

Carbon dome tweeter

The new carbon dome tweeter is specifically designed for the 700 Series. It offers a dramatic improvement over the aluminum twin-dome tweeter used in the 700 S2. The carbon dome tweeter is even more accurate in reproducing the upper frequencies, delivering a wealth of detail.

Midrange driver with Continuum™ membrane

True technical advancement sometimes requires thinking outside the box. The transition from the famous yellow B&W aramid fiber midrange cones to the new Continuum cone technology led to a massive improvement in midrange performance. Now, B&W engineers have turned their attention to another crucial element of the speaker cone: the fabric spider. The new Biomimetic Suspension once again revolutionizes the performance of the midrange cone. Unwanted air movement is effectively reduced. Thanks to its composite construction, the Continuum™ cone avoids the typical partial vibrations of a conventional drive unit. The result is a transparent midrange that must be heard to be believed.

Each three-way speaker in the new 700 Series features a custom midrange cone that incorporates four key Bowers & Wilkins technologies: the Continuum™ cone, FST™ technology, Biomimetic Suspension, and midrange isolation, which improves the transition to the woofer.

Aerofoil™ Basses

The Aerofoil™ profiles of B&W bass speakers were developed with the help of state-of-the-art computers. The variable-thickness bass cone provides high rigidity and strength where it's needed most, resulting in deep, dynamic bass.

The housing

The new 700 Series features a curved front baffle for the first time. The midrange and woofer drivers are housed in separate cabinets, significantly reducing the cabinet's negative impact. The best example of this is the successful 800 Series from Bowers & Wilkins.

The surfaces

The 700 S3 are available in high-gloss black, matt white and, brand new, with a mocha wood grain.
