The high-frequency reproduction benefits from the ring radiator developed exclusively for Burmester, which ensures optimum transparency and resolution. The mid-bass and mid-bass drivers are a further development based on the proven driver, which has already helped the B10 compact loudspeaker to achieve an impressive sound performance. The highly complex crossover is located in its own housing chamber, as is the mid-bass driver, whose own closed housing ensures a particularly clean mid-range performance.
DESIGN
The B18 loudspeaker presents itself in a modern and at the same time timeless design. The housing is optionally available with surfaces in high-gloss Macassar, high-gloss dark walnut or high-gloss black with black anodized front elements. With a housing in high-gloss white or high-gloss light walnut, the loudspeaker comes with silver anodised front elements. A completely newly developed, computer-calculated spring-mass damping system ensures optimal decoupling of the speaker and makes it extremely resistant to floor vibrations. The massive and particularly torsion-resistant aluminum MDF sandwich front, in conjunction with the housing optimized by means of FEM analysis, ensures accurate, precise bass reproduction and significantly reduces the after-vibration of the housing.
HANDMADE
In addition to the mechanical damping by means of a foam cylinder, the B18 loudspeaker has a bass switch for adapting the bass reproduction to the spatial conditions and personal listening taste. This creates various possibilities for tuning the sound pressure level in the bass range.
