Precise, stable synchronization and powerful drive torque
The SL-1500C is every bit as good as Technics' larger turntable models in terms of audiophile sound quality. It's based on a direct-drive motor with a single rotor, whose stator operates without iron cores. This inherently eliminates unwanted rotational irregularities caused by cogging torque. The drive force of the motor's rotor magnets has been pushed to its absolute limit. As a crucial component for preventing vibrations, the SL-1500C's chassis features a housing construction similar to that of high-end turntables. The die-cast aluminum chassis is bonded to a structure made of ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene copolymer) plastic, reinforced with glass fibers. This two-layer construction provides exceptional rigidity and vibration damping. The isolator consists of a spring and a rubber component for optimal vibration damping. Furthermore, reliability has been improved through the use of a detachable power cord and gold-plated connectors for the phono and line inputs. The result is a reproduction of the music in all its beauty and authenticity.
Phono equalization for easy connection to various components
The SL-1500C features a built-in, high-quality phono equalizer for MM (moving magnet) cartridges, allowing for easy connection to audio equipment without a dedicated phono input. The separate power supply for the phono equalizer is decoupled from the motor and control circuitry to prevent interference. The power supply's shielded design further prevents external interference, resulting in pristine signal amplification. A pair of unequalized outputs also allows the SL-1500C to be connected to amplifiers with a phono input. All these features ensure unadulterated musical enjoyment, as do the included universal headshell and the perfectly aligned Ortofon 2M RED MM cartridge. The tonearm height is adjustable within a 6mm range to accommodate a wide variety of cartridges. The included additional weight allows the use of pickups weighing between 14.3 and 25.1 g (including headshell).
Automatic tonearm lift
As soon as the tonearm reaches the inner end of the record, the auto-lift function raises it. This prevents unnecessary wear and tear on both your valuable records and the cartridge, and increases ease of use. By integrating the auto-lift function into the tonearm base, impacts to the tonearm are avoided. This function can be deactivated if desired.
