Cambridge Audio's new L/R series combines powerful acoustics, modern streaming technology, and flexible design. It was developed to deliver high-quality music playback in a variety of room sizes and applications – from compact workspaces to spacious living rooms. The series comprises three models tailored to different needs: L/RS, L/RM, and L/R X.
L/RS – Compact loudspeakers for smaller rooms
The L/RS speakers are designed for users who want precise, balanced sound reproduction in limited spaces. Their compact dimensions allow them to be easily placed on desks, shelves, or sideboards.
- Driver concept: 3-inch woofer and aluminum tweeter with waveguide for clear voices and detailed highs.
- Sound tuning: DynamEQ ensures a consistent balance at all volume levels.
- Connections: Multiple wired inputs and Bluetooth aptX HD for uncomplicated music playback.

L/RM – Versatile streaming speakers for medium-sized rooms
The L/RM speakers combine a vibrant, room-filling sound with a clean, modern design. They are suitable for everyday music applications, whether streaming, vinyl, or TV.
- Acoustics: A 4-inch woofer plus a 28 mm tweeter delivers balanced highs and controlled bass. Two 4.75-inch passive radiators extend the bass range without a subwoofer.
- Streaming and connectivity: StreamMagic Gen 4 supports Spotify, Qobuz, TIDAL, Amazon Music as well as Roon, Google Cast, AirPlay 2 and UPnP.
- Room adaptation: DynamEQ and room optimization functions enable consistent playback in environments of varying sizes.
- Connections: Bluetooth, Line-In, HDMI eARC and Phono for turntables.
The L/RM offer a flexible solution for medium-sized rooms where a combination of streaming, analog sources and TV sound is required.
L/RX – Flagship for larger rooms
The L/RX models represent the top-of-the-line series. They combine powerful amplifier performance, precise signal processing, and a sophisticated speaker design for spacious, detailed sound reproduction.
- Driver design: Dual-woofer system, proprietary 28 mm tweeter with waveguide, digital crossovers, advanced speaker protection.
- Power: 800W amplifier power for room-filling sound without a subwoofer.
- Streaming & Multiroom: StreamMagic Gen 4 with all common streaming services, WiSA and multiroom compatibility via Google Cast, AirPlay 2 and Roon.
- Design: Clear, architectural form, floating base and subtle LED lighting; available in six surface finishes.
