Dali Opticon 6 MK2 Floorstanding Loudspeaker

The DALI OPTICON MK2 series includes six models. Within the product family of passive loudspeakers from DALI, it represents a milestone in terms of both reproduction quality and technical ambitions: This is unmistakably a high-end HiFi product. The OPTICON MK2's features include the well-known DALI hybrid tweeter, chassis made of die-cast aluminum, pole pieces made of SMC and the housing completely manufactured by DALI.

Every model in the OPTICON MK2 series is equipped with DALI's self-made bass-midrange drivers on SMC2. The OPTICON MK2 series basis equipped. You will be supported by either a DALI fabric dome tweeter or the hybrid fabric/ribbon tweeter with which DALI has become so well known. The OPTICON MK2 models are available in three new finishes: satin white, satin black and tobacco oak.

The speaker covers are designed in black for the two darker housing options and in light gray for the white housing option - of course in upholstered furniture quality.

Opticon 6 MK2

The slim floorstanding speaker OPTICON 6 MK2 is the first model in the OPTICON MK2 series to be equipped with the well-known DALI hybrid tweeter made of fabric dome and ribbon tweeter. The hybrid tweeter reproduces highs in significantly more detail.

It has been improved again for the OPTICON MK2: The 29 mm diameter dome adopted from the CALLISTO series is integrated here together with the 17 × 45 mm ribbon element into a revised front panel made of cast aluminum. The bass and mids of the OPTICON 6 MK2 are covered by two 6½-inch wood fiber membranes with SMC-based magnets.

The lower of these two drivers is slightly lowered in the midrange. Optionally, BiWiring is possible with the OPTICON 6 MK2, so that the bass-midrange driver and high-frequency module can be connected independently of each other. With the double low-midrange module, the dual flare bass reflex tube and the increased internal volume of a floorstanding loudspeaker, the OPTICON 6 MK2 is able to act significantly more powerfully in the bass range than the OPTICON MK2 compact models.

This higher bass performance combines with brilliant clarity in the mids and the typical sparkling highs of the DALI hybrid tweeter to create a convincing whole.

The scope of delivery of the OPTICON 6 MK2 includes foot elements made of cast aluminum. They are supplemented with either black chrome-plated floor spikes or (if installation on sensitive floors is planned) vibration-reducing damping pads. Tools for assembling the cast foot parts and spikes are included.
