Rega Nd7 MM cartridge
The result of over ten years of intensive development, the Rega Nd7 Moving Magnet cartridge offers the latest technology in the moving magnet category, using high-performance neodymium magnets to ensure exceptional precision and detail.
Next level of moving magnet technology
The Nd7 is handcrafted with the utmost care by experienced technicians and uses a highly advanced "Fine Line" nude diamond profile, which is also used in the high-end MC models Apheta 3 and Aphelion 2. The mono-crystal diamond profile has a minimum radius of just 3 microns horizontally and 30 microns vertically. This profile allows the Nd7 to precisely capture even the smallest details on the vinyl surface, delivering exceptional detail.
The pickup uses a new generator geometry with perfect symmetry for precise channel balance. Optimized pole spacing improves linearity and crosstalk characteristics and provides an expanded sound image compared to previous models. With miniaturized parallel coils made of 38-micron wire and only 1275 turns, improved high frequency reproduction is achieved. The Nd7 is delivered in environmentally friendly, 100% recyclable packaging.

Nd magnet technology
The Nd7 is the first moving magnet cartridge to use a neodymium (Nd) N55 magnet – the most powerful magnet commercially available in the world. This magnet enables the unique properties of the Nd7 and offers more power than conventional bar magnets.
Housing made of glass fibre reinforced PPS
The housing of the Nd7 is made of glass fiber reinforced polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), a lightweight and highly rigid material. This housing reduces the weight of the cartridge and minimizes stress on the tonearm bearings, which contributes to precise movement and accurate playback of the record. The design was inspired by the successful MC series.
Cantilever & needle profile
The Nd7's aluminum cantilever features a precise, perfect elliptical Nude Diamond stylus. This profile provides exceptional tracking accuracy and allows you to filter out greater detail from the vinyl surface.
Factory installed options
The Nd7 cartridge can be factory installed on the Planar 6 and Planar 8 turntables. This option, designed specifically for these turntables, ensures optimal performance and is offered at a discounted price when purchased together with the turntables.
Dismantling program
The unique pivot pad design of Rega cartridges improves performance by eliminating the mechanical joint between the needle housing and the main body. This greatly increases the tracking ability and stability of the needle. If damaged or worn, the cartridge can be returned to the dealer for reconditioning, who will supply a reconditioned model with a new cantilever, needle and pivot pad. Each rebuild is tested as a new cartridge and offered at a reduced price.
